I'm not a fan of the 05-09 Mustang GT, Shelby yes, but the 10-14 Mustang GT is a beast.

I'm still a fan of the Fox Body 87-93 and New Edge 99-04. The later models of the New Edge put out more hp and we're lighter by 400 plus pounds. Also the Terminator was a beast with 390 hp....

True and how many people can't figure a Corvette is a separate class of car from a Challenger, Camaro, or Mustang. The Ford GT cleaned house back in the 60's, due to Shelby no doubt, but a muscle car to a high end sports is like apples to oranges and the GT is looking to knock Corvette out of Lemans...

The GT is a mid engine design and depending on the design a small block or big block or forced induction V8 up until now since it's built with a new Ecotech on steroids.

Is the Shelby allegedly faster than a camaro? Sure is. But you called out GM, thus calling out the Corvette by default. That's all i was saying. No hard feelings. I think I've only been serious about 3% of my life so the chances of me being full of **** at any given time are pretty good. You've been warned. :-*
 
I worked at Ford when the 05 body style came out. The first month or so we only had V6's in blue and red. For every 10 or so V6's we got in we could get in a V8. They all sold like crazy, no deals given. You paid full retail or didn't get one. Then we got the rest of the colors ... en masse. The lot looked a gigantic pack of skittles jizzed everywhere. We couldn't even fit them all so many came in. We were stacking them out back, in the lawn, on curbs, in the service area, anywhere we could find space. And they kept coming in, too. We probably had 10 Mustangs for every one of any other type of vehicle. It looked like we quit selling anything but Mustangs. At that point we couldn't give them away. The salesmen were cutting 5, 10, 15k off the sticker price just to get them the **** off the lot. They couldn't sell enough so they had to start cutting prices on everything else just to make room for all the skittle jizz. Every teenage high school girl had daddy buying her a skittles-colored V6 'Stang for her 16th birthday. The same car that went for $35k in months 1 & 2 were going for $15-20k at this point. Almost immediately they started to fall apart. The interiors were nothing but cheap plastic. The engines were problematic and fussy. Transmissions were simply time bombs. As far as I am concerned that model Mustang is the biggest piece of **** Ford has ever produced, followed closely by the 6.0 diesel. The diesel would be first except that there weren't nearly as many of them as the Mustangs.

All these kids running around with V6 Mustangs are idiots yes the V6, current run, put out more than a 90's Mustang GT but it's still a V6 a Taurus in wolves clothing in my opinion..... Also these kids fail to grasp the 05 + Mustang is fat compared to a earlier gen Mustang GT.

When I was looking to buy a Mustang back in 2006 I had a guy try to sell me a new Mustang GT I was looking at a used 02 to 04 Mustang GT. He kept talking about how much more power it has, not really true, and how much better it was, ect. I looked at him told him the newer GT is over four hundred pounds heavier and the 03 to 04 GT was rated at 305/310 verses 300/320 and I wasn't really looking for horsepower or I would look for a Cobra, Roush, Saleen. I was looking for power but a lightweight package that could auto cross and the New Edge suited my needs better.....

After they climbed on my truck trying to get the VIN I was pissed and left......
 
Just for the record.....the 05 mustang GTs cleaned up in F - Stock autocross class when they came out. Heavier. ...but suspension and chassis were world's better than pre 05 models.

My highly suspension modded 02 GT was turning similar times as those cars. I felt sad. :(

I don't think I'm a horrible driver. I won a few Street mod and ESP regional and divisional championships.
