So on my first weekend out, my relay for my fan stops working on a very steep climb. About half way up the hill I notice my temp is up to 240. So I stop and figure out what is going on. So on the side of the hill I bypass my relay and temp goes down.

I understand a high temp shutoff would be dangerous on the side of a mountain. So possibly a light would be nice. I'm running a Sbc with cheap mechanical gauges. Any suggestions.

Wiring up an idiot light is pretty simple. Just get a sending unit from a vehicle that was equipped with an idiot light and route your ground through the sending unit to your bulb.

Did the same thing on my Rzr, a 5psi oil sending unit wired to an truck stop interior led red light mounted on the steering column
