Sounds like you got the wrong box. You may be able to use it by looping the lines for the box so that nothing gets in there, but I would say you want the power steering anyway. You might as well keep it, and add the power steering to the truck. Makes driving off road a TON easier. My Dads 83 has stock steering with no power steering, and its a PAIN to drive off road even with the small 31s. My 84 has power steering with hysteer, and it turns WAY easier off road, even with the 37s. Just my opinion though of course. Im sure others will chime in.~T.J.
