that was the first year of production. on the duramax boards you never hear of people popping head gaskets. i have the lb7 engine and its been flawless. i will admit to the injector issue....but gm went out of there way to warrentee that(200000 miles).ive had mine for little over a year now. put 35000 miles on it, drove the piss out of it. check engine light came on for a glow plug relay. truck still started, ran and drove fine with the issue. it just seemed like a dumb comment to say knowledgeable diesel people wouldnt reccomend one
