Independent suspension ideas

I've had this idea in my head a while about building a 4-wheel independent suspension kart/buggy kinda like the one in the picture below, but 4 wheel drive. I've got a 150 hp motorcycle engine laying around that I don't use anymore.
What I wondering is what kind of automotive differentials would be good and inexpensive to build around that would handle some jumps with around 33" tires? I know the mid-80s corvette diffs are D44 so gears would be easy to get.
What about a front diff? Would 4WD S-10 stuff hold up?

Seems like you'd want a narrow diff for the front also. Anything from a 4wd ifs truck will be wide, as they all have a fixed long side axle shaft.

I'd use the same diffs and CV shafts front and rear if I was building it.

I would't use a dif, I'd use chains.

These guys are building a super narrow diff using dana 60 ring and pinion. Says they can accept 930 sor series 30 cvs and theyre only 1.5 inches apart in the diff. Proformance Motorsports is the company name.

Nah you need expedition rear diffs! 9-3/4" same size as Dana 60 and they are fairly narrow cast chunk aluminum cover!
If you feel like that's overkill explorers are like said 8.8 and are all aluminum and about 3" narrower

Ive looked a lot into this and the best to me it the ifs Toyota diff, pull the long side off and you can stick the short stub shaft into it with some minor machining. Its about the narrowest setup for the money.

I have a few IFS designs for what your aiming for if your interested and I can send you some of the drawings

Then call RCV and have them build you a set of IFS axles for it. They do make them for the GM IFS front but damn are they pricey.

I checked on the RCV and they said like 1200-1500 for custom toyota ones

I've got parts laying around I want to use. This is more to keep me busy and from going insane during the 5 months of winter in this hell-hole.

Had some friends trying convince me I need a snowmobile. I figure when I do this job will end or it won't snow.

I love the Subaru idea. They have proven parts and I like the product.

Only drawback is subarus mainly WRX and STIs are really hard to get cheap unless you can snag one that's totaled. Then again, who said this was a budget build? Lol

I'm excited to see what you come up with.
