All depends on what your time and parts are worth. I have done my own in the past but anymore the thought of being "that guy" on the trail who just gernaded a $600. locker $200. worth of gears and now has to get out on one drive axle scares me enough that I just have someone that really knows what their doing do it. unless you already have the tools count on another couple hundred for a used dial indicator, magnetic base. calipers  ect. For me I make more working then I would save doing my own gears so its a easy decission anymore. Theres quite a few guys on here that are good at it and dont charge what a full shop would  just sidework money that pays for the toys :awesomework:
