So I plan on swapping my 6.0 intake for an LS1 intake. The reason for this is to make my engine shorter, I already have a Twisted Custom Oil pan to get rid of the fat 6.0 oil pan.
Is there any major reason I shouldn't swap the intakes? From what I have read its a simple swap and the LS1 intake are plentiful and not very expensive.
If any one has any input on why I shouldn't do it let me know.

The only reason is a little loss of tourque. The truck intake is known for making better tq numbers on the low end. My opinion is if you can fit it the buggy leave it alone, if not swap to a LS1 intake, my buddy put a trick flow on his camero, I will ask him if he still has his factory LS1 intake.

they can be had for about $40. do it if you have to for clearance. I would imagine that with the cam and other valvetrain mods that adam will do it will be stupid not to. I would go so far as to turn it around (or whatever he wants to make fit in the chassis). I only say this because no air cleaner/intake tube/rad up front makes for a crazy visibility rig. its easy as **** and they're all silicone gaskets that are reusable. really a pimp setup. a long way from the old single use paper gaskets with a bead of silicone to make it seal

Woodlee isn't building my buggy any more, and I really don't want the intake in the cock pit with me. My jeep was done that way when I had the Supercharged motor and I hated it, it made so much noise I couldn't even talk to the person riding with me.

I wouldnt flip one unless it was rear engine.

Im not going to flip it. Whats the Difference in the ls6 andls7 intakes and stuff. They seem like there fairly cheap to. Any reason to use one of those instead?

LS6 intake has larger runners and will make 19 more HP than an LS1. The LS7 will not work on your motor, only the 427 in the Vette. I believe that when going from a truck intake to a car intake some of the pullies/brackets are in the way of the throttle body. This is because the tb will sit alot lower on the motor. The other things is that you will need to get the coolant tubes for the LS1 intake. They are cheap from dealer or off of Ebay. You will also need the LS1 fuel rails etc for the swap. If you are dead set of changing the intake than go with the LS6. Spend the extra money ($350), you won't be let down. Any mods you do to the motor will only benefit from the LS6 intake. Give me a call or send me a message on myspace if you need any parts. I have some left from my Vette, WS6 and TBSS here and ALOT of buddies with LS cars.
