Some of you may remember back in February when my wife, Jennifer, had a blackout/seizure issue and had to spend a night in the ER and go through every test in the book. Well it happened again today while she was at work. For those that don't know my wife is 2 months away from her master's in Nurse Anesthesia, and has a job lined up with St. Vincent's as a CRNA. She had another episode today; she did not know where she was, had seizure like activity, etc. We spent 6 hours in the ER. They did an EEG, CT Scan and blood work: all negative for epileptic seizures. If they find her positive for epileptic seizures she will probably not be able to finish school, practice medicine or drive for an extended period. In short, it would ruin what she has spent 6 years in school and 2 years in the field working towards. My wife is the most driven and determined person I know and this would kill her drive and spirit.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We need to find the cause of these episodes, and hopefully it will not be epileptic in nature.

Oh man, so sorry. Yeah I hope everything gets better. I understand the frustration of knowing there is a problem, but having no idea what it is. The human brain is so freaking dynamic, and weird.

You got it, you are in the prayers bro. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear this happened again Matt. I hope it can be fixed/managed somehow and she can continue with her career. Take care buddy, I'm rooting for your family!

Sorry to hear it. Did they examine any other meds she may be on? I had that happen here and it was two drugs the guy was prescribed. One was for panic attacks, one was for stomach (ulser or something). Just a thought, if they did not check that. exact same symtoms.

I can echo John on the meds. Can't tell it by looking at my wife but she takes BP medication...several years ago she was on Toperol(sp?).....it caused her months of problems including passing out and seizure like symptoms....that led to anxiety and more passing out. She came off the Toperol and has been fine since.

Sorry to hear that buddy. I know it can be frustrating. I had something similar happen in high school and it was never explained. They monitored me for 6 months and I never had another problem with it. Has she had any problems resting or changes in diet since this started?

No she has been on anti-seizure meds since the first incident. We are having her BC pill changed just in case the two meds are not working well together

We went to her doc today and he cleared her for work next week and up'd her meds. Probably is I could tell he did not really care about the actual case, he just wanted to get us out of his way. I have a friend that is going to get us lined up with a good neurologist for a 2nd opinion. So she is clear for now, but I don't believe they actually addressed the problem. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers

The hits just keep on coming.....

She had horrible stomach pain this weekend, went to the GI doc on Monday and got a stomach ultrasound and scope, they found gallstones :o She had her gallbladder removed today and is recovering from the surgery. Man I tell you she cannot catch a break. Anyways, 7 hours at the hospital today and now we are crashing..

Anything I, or we can do for you guys?

This is just shitty, so sorry everything has been going so not well.

Shoot me your home address.

x3
Man, give her my best. Either I am getting older or more young people are having their gall bladder removed. Used to it seemed the only people I heard of having it removed were old people. :-\
