• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

January Meeting, Monday 1/7/08 @ Loco's

This is starting the stretch where I will be working
Monday nights, see you 4 meetings from now. dunno

See you guys at 6:30 on Monday, I have a National Championship party to go to after so I would like to discuss club business sooner rather than later.

I wont make this one, Im going to take advantage of the good weather and further the buggy along. thumb.gif

I do have something to run by everyone. 3 ton of fun has made a sticker of the "new" hardline crawler logo... basically took it off the board and cut it. He asked about running it on his hood not to put off that he is a member just cause he likes it and to support the club. Anyway something to discuss and he said he'd make black and white ones to pass along to us members...

quoted from his PM

" Yeah thats cool just ask around and let me know i dont wanna step on any toes i woudlnt put it on there and be like yeah im a member id rather it show my support for the club (that you dont have to be big to be badass)im hoping to have it done by the 19th ride ask everyone what colors it needs to be done i think just black or white and im going to keep the size around 7 or 8 inches with the lettering for standard size and will do other one off sizes on request "

Not that it is a bad thing, but why do people keep making their own stickers with our logos on them? I guess it is good to have people wanting to rep our name, but it sucks to have to have this keep happening.

I think its a good thing, flattering even. Guys think enough of the site and take the club serious enough to support it in thier own way. We are gonna have to acknowledge that the members participating on this site put our clubs name in the "publics" eye. If not for site participation we wouldnt get alot of the ride hook ups and trail guides that get offered. Its a good thing.

Our website plainly states who is and isnt a member and everyone pretty much gets it by now that its invite only. I dont think we have to go outta our way to protect who WE are. Its obvious on the main page.

Just my .02 because we will continue to have this conversation... people dig what we are doing and want to be involved in it anyway that they can. 8) Let the club brand grow, share it with the forum members how do you think PBB got so big !!! thumb.gif

The website does show the members the problem is 1/10th of the people that see stickers, shirts, etc. go to the site and now who the members are. The rest see this sticker and say that guy is a hardline crawler. May be fine in this case since the guy seems nice enough, but what if some fawking idiot did the same and then everybody associates him with us. I have no aspirations to be like PBB, just a small group of wheelers that ride and hang together. If we are going to compare to something I would much rather it by BTG out of Arizona or the Blacksheep 4x4 out of Texas.

I do like his initiative though, if he were actualy we has in the club we might have stickers by now :flipoff1:

I don't think I am going to make the meeting tonight eather. I might have a work conflict. I have to meet a lady in Cleara at 5:30 don't think I can get there and back in time. We need to join Southern Four Wheel Drive Association by the end of the month. Let me know what else we have on tap.

Matt let me know how much money IOU so I can get it to you.

NOTICE IF YOU HAVENT DONE THIS DO IT STAT !!!! Dont make us come up with some punishment :fish:

I mailed mine along with the club bio and roster yesterday. I believe myself, John, P and Ricky are the only members that have sent in their memership check. Come on guys, make it happen.

We were done by 7:30, so it was short. The place was packed because of the BCS Game, so we could not hear for ****.

We finalized the ride schedule, decided to swap WITC for Mayhem in Feb, talked about the logo issue as you can see per John's post in the general forums and that was about it. Keith is interested and is talking to his wife about coming to the Feb ride, sounds promising.

To recap the logo issue, we know that if it is on the web then chances are someone can steal it and use it for their own purposes, and that there is not much we can do except ask them to not use it (like with Skillet). However if someone asks ANY club member if it is OK to use the logo for whatever reason, the standard response is no and then explain that it is a members only deal. No exceptions for nice guys or buddies, etc.

Next time we are going to try and sit in the round booth by the bathrooms because it is quieter and we will all be around the same table and it might make the conversation easier to hear.
