I have a 1.5 4.5r die and the stock JD2 followers are gouged and leaving witness marks on the tube..what im wondering if anyone is running the pro tools follower thats made for the jd2. How has it held up and all that.

I heard you can with a little modification to how it mounts up to the bending fixture.

yeah ours started to do that cause some rusty tube was bent. i was able to take a die grinder and just remove the high spots and it stopped leaving the witness marks.

i think i read a large thread on pirate about interchangability of bender parts:kiss: i can no longer search there cause i cant seem to make the payment thing work so i cant get a red star.

Pro tools followers are different that jd2's. However pro tools realized jd2 was making junk parts and wasnt gonna fix em so they make followers specifically for the jd2. Ive done plenty of freshening up on my follower, Now im thinking its too close to the c/l on the pin and not working correctly..Time to go get a quote on one i guess

Have you seen the new JD2 followers? They are making them out of a different material now, some kind of cast bushing material. There was pictures on their web page but looks like they are gone now.

I wont ever buy anything from them ever again. The last 3 dies i got from em were made completely wrong...Im gonna deal with my bender for a few years til a ercolina falls in my lap.

my 1-3/4 die did the same thing I used a couple of layers of duct tape and it worked good then I broke down and bought a couple new followers from www.trick-tools.com I ordered m-tech followers and they worked great.:cheer:
