Ok I am getting myself familiar with these 4.0's in the jeep and have come up with only a couple questions I cannot 100% figure out.

So I assume the engine speed sensor is the one on the top of the bell housing (manual transmission)?

And where is the "sync sensor" located? I assume thats just a different name for the camshaft sensor?

The Crankshaft position sensor is the one on the bellhousing. Near the top on the drivers side.

The camshaft position sensor on the newer (non renix) 4.0's is on the distributor. I don't know where it is when they went to distributorless ignition.

Thanks karl. They call the sensor in the wiring a "sync sensor" and found the sensor in the distributor had the same wiring colors so I assumed thats where the sensor was but wasn't 100% sure. But granted this is going off what I saw after 11pm last night with not having anything but schematics in front of me this morning. So my assumptions are correct :;

I've got the factory service manual for the '91 4.0L if you wanna borrow it.

Thanks brad--I have access to a ton of stuff here at work so getting the info isn't hard. There were some grey areas/terms I had to dig to figure out.
