Many Years ago I bought the FI Kit for the Jeep well I think the computer is acting up.... When it gets to warm the jeep dies... once the ECU cools down runs like a champ.

I would like to find a used ECU now according to the propaganda "Mechanical components are based from production 1995 Jeep parts; therefore replacement parts are readily available."

What ECU's do I look for? any Jeep from 1995 with a 5-speed?

Also would this type of issue show up on a scan tool?

I had this same problem with mine a few years ago. It turned out to be a cam switch. I'd have it scanned.

I have a crank position sensor, it looks for the holes on the harmonic balancer.

If your interested I have an ECU from a 1990 YJ 4.2 (258) and I think I have the ignition box too. Both for $60 shipped.

a stock 1990 ECU will not work with the FI kit I installed which is based off of a 1995 Jeep...

Scott, I'd have to dig it out, but I have an ECU somewhere from a '91 HO cherokee, 5-speed, which should be the same as a '95 at least in my understanding (OBDII didn't start until '96).

If you want to try it, it's yours, but I'm not sure when I'll be that way again.

I just ordered an ECU $250 from 4wdh and the bought a Mopar crank sensor they this isn't the issue I will have some trail repair kit.

the ECU will take 7 to 10 days so this weekend I am going to put the ECU in a cooler of ice and see what happens... If it is the ECU then this will tell me.
