Love that TOYOTA
This was Tom's idea, but I'm gonna post it here on the forums cause so many folks have asked me about it.
I recently made a flat belly pan for the TJ, I do have a 3 inch body lift so I had plenty of room to push the entire drivetrain way up inside. After seeing the price of the lifted motor mounts from various companies, Tom suggested this idea, which works famously.
I took some new stock mounts and filled the space in the voids with silicone to strengthen them up a bit.
We then took some rectangular stock, and cut it to length. (More or less depending on how much you need to raise your motor). We bolted that to the existing frame mount, and then bolted the new motor mounts on top of the spacers.
Works great for less than $10 in material and fasteners.
Drivers side.
Passenger side.
