John G Memorial Ride 2017

Just thought I'd start this one to get the ball rolling so we can iron out some details and concerns prior to the ride.

It has been mentioned to me that some others might be planning a Memorial ride for John. We need to get the details ironed out and advertised pretty quickly. It would be great to get everyone on board with it, but I don't think that will be the case and probably some hurt feelings because of it. I just saw Rich post up about speaking with Nan and deciding upon it being the Shamrock ride in March which is PERFECT...... Thanks Rich for getting that nailed down.

So how do we want to advertise this event and what do we want memorabilia wise to signify his legacy? Shirts, stickers, hats, raffle, auction, etc?

It take a LOT to run an event at Morris Mountain. Fortunately most of the actual park maintenance is ready due to RBD happening just a few months prior.

I think in a couple weeks maybe we'll ask Joy and Nan if they would like the be "Hardline Crawlers" and teach them about the forum?

I was told no on the auction by Nan. She said she wanted a big party with minimal activities taking away from the riding and the drinking festivities. As far as hats, stickers, etc, that would have to be nailed down pretty quickly to have time to get them together. I personally vote for a cool shirt, purple in color.
