When the hell did a child get a graduation for passing Kindergarten, 5th grade, 8th grade and then from High School? I went to a family dinner last night only to find out it was because my nephew "Graduated" the 5th grade. WTF ever happened to going to school and getting an education because that is what you are suppose to do.
To me, it is the same as giving every child a trophy just because they showed up.
If you are a parent who just loves this crap then I honestly feel sorry for you. No wonder everyone has to be so ****ing PC these days, you might hurt some persons feelings. These are probably the same ones who had 5 ****ing graduations before they got out of high school.

Re: Re: Kids Graduations

I'm not a kid person....jus dont have the desire to have any.

**** like you described is part of that reason.

Theres a pretty cool GNC commercial that explains how "average" everyone has become.

If you got kids more power to'ya.....jus not for me in this world.

I graduated high school in 05 and am 27 yrs old, for reference.

I had 6th grade graduation, but I can't remember if it was ceremonious or it was just a gay cap & gown pic to have for later. I know mom still has the pic, but I don't remember there actually being a ceremony to attend. I didn't even want to go to my high school graduation. I was just ready to get the fawk out of there and away from all those fawks that I didn't give 3 shits about.

The "no child left behind" thing is ridiculous. The "everybody is becoming average" is 100% accurate. I don't like it.

I graduated in 05 also and only graduation I had was from high school. Makin it out of elementary school and middle school isn't really somethin I'd be proud of. High school graduations have somewhat of a meaning to me I reckon bc that's as high as my education went but it was still really easy.

I was talking to one of my coworkers and he was saying that some schools have these especially the 8th grade graduation because most students will never make it to graduate high school. I am thinking "really", they have **** dumb down so much now that you could pass and never attend class.

I graduated in 1982, I know I'm old. We had a kinder garden graduation and I think we had maybe another one from elementary school. I can't see having the whole family get together for either of those. It's something just the parents attended. For you young guys its just another step in a child's life, something you do to make them feel important. High school graduation is a bigger deal to most people.
I do attend high school graduations for children of friends and family. But I do feel if anyone wants to graduate high school it's not really that hard. Just show up and half ass try and you can do it. College on the other hand is a very big accomplishment to me.

I graduated in 92 so I guess I'm an old fart compared to a bunch of you guys. My high school graduation is the only one I remember, but I am old and may be forgetful. I also remember not getting awards and trophies when I didn't win. Made me try harder next time. If you get a trophy or award just for showing up what incentive is there to give a **** and actually try.

I worked full time during high school in a sock mill, often times pulling 16 hour shifts after school on Fridays. I remember pulling 70 hours one week and my Ag teacher found out. He said he wouldn't say anything else to me about sleeping through class anymore. I slept through every class I could and still always made A's and B's with a handful of C's. Nowadays, if you don't graduate high school, you probably are not going to have an easy life on down the road. Back in the day it wasn't **** to quit school early and still make it alright, it's not the same these days. It can still be done, it's just people quit high school because they are lazy as fawk now, it was for different reasons back in the day.

Hell I graduated high school in 2009, that was the only graduation I ever had. I don't get it either.

You guys have no idea! I teach high school auto mechanics in knoxville tn. These kids have figured out that if they just don't do their school work and then say they don't understand, that they'll list em special ed and give em an iep (individual educational plan) which states that they can have **** like people reading **** aloud to them and extra time on tests and assignments. They've figured out how to be lazy as **** and get away with it. Special ed students can have **** like foreign language and algebra waived so they don't have to take it. It's bullshit. I graduated in 97 and if you failed your sophomore year you returned as a ****ing sophomore. Not as a junior that's shy a few credits. This world of bleeding heart liberal left wing motherfuckers don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Everyone is special and they can be whatever they set their minds to. Bullshit!!!!! If you have no athletic ability, your not going to be a football player in the nfl. If your stupid, your damn sure not going to be a doctor and your damn sure not going to be my doctor. Our education system is broken!! I don't see any hope in the near future either. Now after the massive failure of no child left behind they are scapegoating the teachers and placing the blame on us claiming we haven't done our jobs. The reason these kids can't ****ing read us 1) because parents don't read to their kids anymore and 2) they don't make them learn because they may feel ashamed by it. We are all screwed my friends. Screwed. Retirement, what will that be?

That aint no ****. :gay: I've seen it at my 99% white wealth school.

I didn't graduate 'til '13, but was slated for '99. Life was tough, I went to the Army, and worked my goddamn **** in the dirt to get what most college graduates could have dropped a single pay check on. I've ****ed up alot and made a few bad decisions and paid for them. That is what I preach to those kids at school, that's really my whole job. Be a motivational speaker, while teaching these boys to weld a little. But this goddamn common core **** is taking away my effectiveness and creating a generation of mediocre motherfuckers.

I am just glad that I am not the only one out there who thinks this is a sad event for America.
