You need 100mph runs in that field behind your house more than you need to hit Gdale. laughing1

I will not be hitting 100 mph even if I make the race. I could care less about the fast sections, just wanna be able to run a steady speed. I am more interested in trying to run my rig hard for several hours without cutting it off to check for overheating and other issues that may arise from several hours of hard running.

I hear ya, how has it been doing on temp ? What fan is it running and is it a single speed fan or two speed fan ?

Seems to be ok, it just moves from 180 to 210 and vice versa very fast and erratic. It is a Ron Davis radiator with a built in electric fan. I am pretty sure it is just one speed.

I am about to pull the WP and send it back for a rebuild. Would like to do a new tstat and move the steering cooler out of the airflow.

Matt you need to get Tony to let you in to Grayrock for a day. That way you could just run the **** out of your buggy for a few hours and wouldn't have to worry about people getting in the way or anything. We could set up a mock course. It would be sweet.

I thought about that. I was going to ask him if I could do that after his last ride of the year

We did that with Peak Empires Baja Jeep. I can bring my radar gun. 70 by the well is very possible. We were doing a lot of high speed runs. They were also practicing running in the dust. Single seater in 2WD throwing rocks like a MoFo. Then went over toward the river on property we don't normally ride, still playing follow the leader. Had to be running 65-70 right on each others ass. Good times. How about this Sunday morning. I will still be up there from the Halloween party. Single seater still there also, if needed. I'll be happy to try and set it up with Tony.

drool How badass would that be... I agree hitting some of those access roads at speed would be a good test of "rougher" than street terrain at speed to see how it acts / reacts and get some FEEL ( manly me, I really need to be in that rig ALOT more than I have been just to feel that thing out ) for it at speed. gauging braking distances needed when you run up on a whoop or rock or whatever, turning at speed without getting into trouble..

Yea you may not be WOT but you will want to carry good speed and I can tell you they heat up much faster at constant higher RPM then the stop go throttle we generally give em wheeling all day. thumb.gif

Sunday would work. We will have friends staying over but I can be up there before lunch on Sunday. John will you set it up with Tony? That would be the sweetness!

John I split this out in it's own thread. P can you make it Sunday around 11 or so? If so bring your helment and goggles. I would like to with helments so we can truely feel it out.

This is a GO for noon on Sunday. There is a Jeep ride at Grayrock this weekend, but Tony said they should be gone by then.

We have premission for Matt O KOH rig to do high speed testing.

Thanks John, will be sure to thank Tony as well when we get there... hell Ill thank him Satuday night :drinkers:

Amber is going to come along with me any other wimmens going to be loitering about ? thumb.gif

Reminder that Daylight Saings time ends Sunday, so clocks go back on hour. I will get there early anyways to unload and get read. I plan to mess with air pressure in the tires and N2 pressure in the bumps if needed. I want to do some high speed laps and see top end and what not. Would also like to just cruise the perimeter roads all around the park at a elevated pace and see what the cooling system does.

You want me to bring an IR temp guage as well ? We can look at temps on various components and take notes and so forth :dunno: Just a thought. Call me Sunday morning prior to you heading that way and I will gladly meet you.

YES, that would be nice. I didn't know you had one bastard! Bring your computer also so we can hook up and read true engine temp. I will probably be up at Gray Rock around 11:30 or so. Meet me at the casa around 11:15 and we can rock out

So you gonna beat that buggy tomorrow or what? Whats your game plan?
Start out at the pavillion head all the way to Poison Rock, then Bents and Dents, the Fly to Tub Rock, down the Hill hit Mine J.B. the haul ass to Bents and Dents the haul ass to the other side of the property do the canyon and head back to pavillion. Do all that at a decent speed?

Don't know if Tony wants us to run trails or just access roads, but yeah your plan sounds nice!
