I've never been so maybe this has already happened. If so just ignore me. But wouldn't it be cool if one year we all got together and brought a bunch of the southern / Aetna rigs out to KOH, not to race, but just to wheel before and after the race? Can you imagine the look on everyone's faces when a whole bunch of southern red necks showed up with neon chassis, 44" cut tires, no body panels or sponsor stickers, sitting 1.5' off the ground? Wheeling the Hammers has been one of those trips for me that I keep trying to plan and something always comes up. Something like this would be something to help make sure it actually happens and getting to watch a KOH would be neat, too.

i think it would be awesome . wes kean tried to get in last year to race and waited to long . can you imagine the look on shannon cambells face when a twenty thosand dollar buggy put it on his ass . just my thoughts

as cool as it sounds you are seriously underestimating how fast that guy is. A TN hillshooter would be like a deer on ice out there in the fast stuff. But thats just my opinion, I'll be there to watch.

Unfortunately, I think I agree. But I think a Mad Max-style southern lineup ready to wheel would be the one and only thing that might could steal the show from KOH.

Now you take that Hillshooter and point it up the sides of some of the canyons they got and you guys will be heros!!!
Its hookdirt up the whole side. Sure there are rocks here and there but you guys could go up the sides of the canyons not piddle dicking around on all the rocks that have congregated in the bottom.

Im with whyatt on this one the desert sections are rough. During testing last year my rear end was hitting so hard it would knock the breath out of you. I could last a couple of minutes at a time and miles could last about 30 seconds it was so rough. This year we are actually going with a pro supension tuner so hopefully it will be better.

As for the rock bouncing out there I really dont see alot of it going to happen. The rocks are large and square with a **** load of em but the trails are not that hard just alot of crawling. I want to see all the atena buggies in clayton OK now that **** would be a good weekend.

Yeah I agree Jab. Rocks at KOH are dry and easily crawled, sure there is some crazy trails but I think it would be no match. Yeah in the desert it would probably beat your teeth out as stiff as some of those rigs are set up. Clayton, OK with those rigs would be fun. The place has some nasty stuff and it is not all dry. Some of those trails still haven't been driven like Bounty Trail.

i'd like to see what Wes could do with a rig set up for KOH racing, he's crazy enough to hold the pedal down

Lets do it! Ill bring all the cameras. :dblthumb:

Then maybe we can get some west coasters to come out here and do some southern style wheeling! :woot:

Now that would be fun to watch! :driving:

Nathan while I agree with you about Wes being an awesome driver, I think you under estimate what some of the west coast guys are capable of. Shannon Campbell is unreal behind the wheel.
I would love to see Wes drive a car like Shannons. Im sure he could run up front with a little seat time in the desert.

cole thats basically what i was getting at and i agree with you a little time and he would be unstopable ! how ever i think he would be very competitive with his current buggy with some shock work and he would do it just say i told you so .

and he'd be in traction for a year for still running a Kirkey seat. I dont doubt Wes's skills he's gottem, I'm doubting the Aetna buggy style can hold it in the desert, just like an IFS desert car would be ****ed at Aetna Mtn.

You guys should hold your opinions till you go out there and experience it all. The rocks are the easy part, until you run in the desert you have no idea how hard it is to be fast. To be competitive you need to run like Shannon, Jason S, Ez Rick, Healey, etc in the desert. You cannot truley appreciate how hard that is until you try.

Was talking to a buddy this morning whos racing. He ran 11miles on his new car and over a few sections 25-30mph was out of ****ing control he was being a retard for pushing it that fast. Had a guy over who took his Coilovers and bypasses off, tuned them, valved them, added some shim, etc, blah, blah.
At the end of the day that same section he could run close to 70mph and do a crossword puzzle it was a different car.
Those are the cars you have to be scared of. Scherer, Shannon, Healy, DSI, Slawson, guys that have spent days on end pushing it in the desert trying to get their car dialed in perfect.
Watching Scherer last year running 60ish passing guys going 15-20 on the same **** and he looked like he could sip tea he was so smooth.

Only thing is we're not desert racers,we don't have a desert to try our rigs out on ,I say lets bring their stuff out here and see how they do.

Woodlees buggy seems to work really well around here. If I am not mistaken he has been to aetna and climbed some of those hills.
