I spent all afternoon making an axle alignment tool for rockwells. I used a 1.5" chrome rod out of a hydro cylinder as the aligner, and have 2 of the 3 pucks done on the lathe. one more and your axle is narrowed. before we go on with this, I really want to talk about how tall this buggy is gonna be. a centered front chunk makes for a tall buggy no matter what because it makes you route the front driveshaft around teh engine or put the engine all the way on top of that 3rd. just thinking out loud. rocks make for tall ****.

you run 2 short side shafts to make it narrower and carry only 1 spare. this makes for an insanely tall buggy, though, so I was talking to him last night about not doing it. Daniel, there is a 2 stub rock buggy on pirate, he's in the SE, GA I think. his pirate name is toploader. I don't know the wms-wms, hold

there it is. post 4, it narrows it 13". then you could run your old wheels flipped out and be perfect for this chassis.

60 bible:
5) All SRW Chevy D60s are 69" wide wheel-mounting-surface to wheel-mounting-surface (wms-wms). Most SRW Dodge are 67" wide, although some are reportedly 69" wide too. A Dodge DRW D60 is 75.5" wms-wms.

in teh post above, the stubxstub rock housing was 66.5 with hubs out. I have 2 stubs sitting in the shop with joints in them. I could put them back to back and rock that out if you wanted.

That's a bad ass little rig. I have seen that thread before but never really paid any attention to the two stubs for the short side. I think that if you are looking to do a narrowed rockwell front then thins would be the way to go. Although it still looks as if you might have a little trouble being offset that much (frame rails maybe). I'd try to rock em like that if that is what i was doing. :afro:

i have been talking to Paul and he thinks we can make the center rock work, but now we have another way to do it i guess we will have to take my rock i have now and slide it under it and move it to the center and the to the side and see what we have to work with I'm so darn confussed about what to do :woody: Paul and me r going to do the four link so i guess i need his help on what will be easier

If you can push it to one side or the other you will be miles ahead of the headaches. A centered front rockwell will be all but impossible to package and get a driveshaft to. And especially considering the chassis you just scored.
