Dumb question time...

I'll be pulling my axles out of my YJ soon and it will be sitting on jackstands for awhile. My question is what should I do to keep brake fluid from dripping all over the place? Plugs or caps for the hardlines? I've been looking but havent found any. Or just take out the MC? Advice please :D

on the cheap? with something you probably have lying around? motorcyle tire tube, and some small Diameter hose clamps. or a coffe can, so sit under the brakeline.

Depending on how long it takes you to finish your work I would drain it then flush it when you are done. But I heard somewhere to not leave a master cylinder dry for very long.

Don't disconnect the lines from the caliper. Just unbolt the caliper from the axle and set it up on the frame rail when you pull the axle. No leaks, and no need to rebleed.

THis sounds like a good idea. YEah, just bungee them up out of the way...

a little on the :redneck: side but i found that trim screws are the right size to just barely grip the inside of the brake line and it keeps fluid from dripping out

This was what I was going to do but I was just wondering if there was an alternative. How about the back? Vise grip the stock rubber line? :redneck:

I wouldn't visegrip a line unless it was an emergency, and I'd replace it when I got home. You'll damage a line doing that.

Rubber band a condom on it. :redneck:

Or, instead of vice grips, you could just use real line crimps that are made for this purpose on the rubber part of the line. :flipoff:
