The 88 4Runner I picked up is in need of some front seats. It has some decent seats from a Camaro or something like that, but Im not sure I really like them that well.

So, Im looking for a set of stock grey SR5 seats, but Im also trying to come up with a back up plan if I get the motor stuff done and ready to go before I have seats, and herein lies the question...

What kind of after market seats would you recommend for a 90% daily driver? I want something comfy, and easy to get in/out of. Doesn't have to be harness capable either, although I know most are. Id prefer something in grey cloth. Close to the color of the 4Runners interior. If that doesnt work out, black cloth would really be the only other option. I also want them to recline as well (the more adjustments the better), and a pass through option would be nice (to get in the back).

Heres the catch, I want something somewhat cheap too (no $500 each). So, what are your suggestions?

EDIT: Another option which you could throw out ideas for, is I was thinking about taking the grey SR5 seats out of my truck, and replacing those with something since its more of a wheeler, then putting the grey SR5 seats from the truck in the 4Runner.

After doing some reading, it seems that the PRPs are about the only ones in my price range. Im thinking I might just get a set of the premier high backs for my truck, then put the stock SR5 seats in the 4Runner... Hmmm.

I assume these are good seats? All the reviews I found for them seem pretty good. If theyre nice, I might just run them in both trucks since I see they have a tilt bracket for the rear seat access, which is perfect. They dont recline, so Im a little nervous about adjustability. Im one who likes to really get a seat "tuned" where I want it (hence why I like SR5 seats). Then again, Ive never sat in one, so maybe I wouldnt need to "tune" it much?

I have a set of 2000 celica GT seats in my truck and love them. Full adjustment with passenger throw forward lever thingy. Picked them up for $200 for the pair and they were in awesome shape. Took a bit of labor to make them fit good though.

i have racecrafts pretty much the same as PRP and they are the best mod ive done to the rig. no adjustment needed for me.

I have a set of MasterCraft in my TJ, and am very pleased with them.
My CJ (since sold) had a set of Ford Thunderchicken seats from a wrecking yard (Fitz's) and were very comfortable and cheap.

I have a set of 94 Acura Integra seats in my 94 Truck, some 80's Honda Prelude seats in my 87 truck, and I installed some 96 Honda Civic seats in my buddies 87 4Runner. All are real comfortable and cheap.

I run PRP's in all my rigs except the tow rig, I also sell them and have them on display if you want to try the fitment :D

Keep in mind that the passenger side seat from your truck won't bolt directly into the 4runner (rear bolts are further forward on the runner seats rails so as to not get in the way of back seat passengers feet when they climb in) so you'll have to drill some new holes if you put your truck seats in the runner. Also, the passenger side seat won't have the tilt/roll forward option like the stock 4runner seats have. Might not be a big deal to you, but it's something to think about.

I used to have a NICE set of SR5 4runner seats in my Xtracab, and that passenger seat was nice for getting stuff into the back of the cab, heck we even had a smaller friend of mine ride back there one time.

The seats in my truck are from a 4Runner, they already have the passenger pass through on them. Pointless for a standard cab.

Does anyone know of anyone else that has PRPs in a showroom besides the guy in Bremerton?

That would be sweet, except I work effing nights, so Im not up until the late morning for PT. On my days off I'll be in Woodinville.

Thanks for the offer though, I really appreciate it! If I dont find any in a shop to sit in before the 1st next month, I might take you up on it since Im going back to days.
