For those that run line locks, did you tap into the brake system before, or after the proportioning valve? Does it matter?

On my other rig I had a dual line Mico and the intructions said after the proportioning valve. I've acquired swagelock hi-pressure ball valves this time due to cost difference. I'd like to tap right off the brake master cyclinder, run the lines into the cab and back out to the existing line, before the proportioning valve...is this doable & safe?

If you're only doing one lock, then the only difference I can see is wear and tear on the prop valve, if you could consider partial compression of the regulator spring as wear and tear.

I run dual rear locks, so I pretty much had to run them downstream of the prop. valve.

So after the proportioning valve it is, thanks for the feedback :awesomework:

So, if I wanted to run line locks for the front & rear, I'd require (3) valves? or (4)? I'm thinking (3) since three lines come off the proportionng valve? I think Crash mentioned in a prior post about utilizing three also? Need to do some searching

I run three, two for the rear, one for the front. You could run duals up front I suppose, too.

It has nothing to do with the prop valve though. I removed and tossed the factory combo valve a long time ago. Adjustables only have two ports, in and out, and the front circuit isn't involved.

But uhhhh, now that you mention a combo valve, yeah, you gotta put the locks after it.

There are two brake lines coming off the proportioning valve for the front brakes. Would it be feasible to route these to a T fitting, then to the line lock valve, then back to a T fitting and out to the brakes? Thoughts?

Your M/C should have only two lines going to the prop valve-one for the front brakes; then splits from there to each of the front brakes;and one for the rear; just install the line lock into the supply line going to the prop valve for the front brakes...
