Though I'm not a big fan, the only way you could get away with line lock's for parking brakes would be using lever locks. get them out of summit, or anywhere automotive

The electric ones to the best of my knowledge cannot be used as an ebrake as it would burn them up. You might look into the mechanical ones, I have one for sale if you need one. $35.00

you can get the lever type one at places that sell parts for forklifts and heavy equipt. Keep in mind though that their not legaly a parking brake. the law requires a mech. parking brake. that said its what I use on my jeep as well.

check with the audio and security stuff online. years ago i got one that locks with a round pop machine style key. plumbed inline with rear brakes. then when parking i would hold the brakes and lock it up. cant go anywhere.:redneck:

After reading a similar thread on another board I'm thinking of going with the mico locks. Avoid the electric type and any other drag racing line lock, they are intended for 15 second use for burnouts.

i use the microlock from a dump truck. it works really really good and does not bleed off overnight. its not the cheapest... i got mine from six robles.

you can even wire an underpressure alarm to it if ya want to. so like if the pressure bleeds off your horn will honk..the switch is already in the lock.

I've had electric Hurst roll control units on 2 rigs now for (sheesh!!) almost 18 years. I've only had 1 issue and that was dirt in the momentary control that wouldn't allow me to unlock the brakes. I use the stock switch when using the the lock like turning brakes and a dash mounted toggle for use as an e-brake. The Hurst unit used to be considered the best but they've changed suppliers and todays quality is unknown.
It will kill a battery overnight. Ask me how I know:mad:

i looked on ebay last night and fould severall mechanical locks for around $20-$30 bucks. i searched brake lock. you will have to scroll through alot of antilock brake titles but, there in there.:awesomework:

I have used Hurst also for nearly 20 years, also on two rigs. I burnt one up when I mounted it on the frame rail, and kept submerging it in the water holes. Since then, I relocated it up higher and have been trouble free.

On my second rig, I tried a different vendor first, but it failed, I warranteed it, replaced it, failed again, warranteed it, failed a third time, and replaced it with a Hurst. Have been trouble free for 6 years. I can't remember who made the problem one, but I originally bought it because it was half the cost of the Hurst unit.

On my third rig (currently under construction) I have a transfer case e-brake on the rear driveline. I may later add a Hurst Roll Control for front / rear digs or whatever.
