If you paid per event I believe it would cost you $350/per, so if you are planning on running all 4 events (finals are invite) it would cost you $1400 to pay per event. So it is a little cheaper to get a membership. Randy Rodd told me that if you are thinking about doing it, to do the membership for two main reasons. You get priority at an event being a member, so if there are more competitors than open spots, you are guaranteed entry. This was not a big deal last year in the East, but he said that the number of teams in the east was going through the rough way faster than the west has grown. He mentioned the series spots being almost full for the east already for the 2008 season. He advised me to become a member now even if I did not compete at all, just so I could guarantee myself a spot when I do want to compete. Doubt I will do this as I have no intentions of competing for a while. He also said the sponsorships and discounts you get are elevated greatly by becoming a member and signing up for the series. It shows more committment and lets sponsors know you are serious about it, which is what they are looking for. I thought this was useful info, which is why I am passing it along.
