It has that chip near that pin, now if I do purchase this, has this chip hindered the strength of this unit? Keep in mind, I am only runnin 33's with a worn out v6, and 4.56's.

NOPE pass... it's broken and will never be the same. IRCC those things are made out of some mixed metals.

as long as its gonna be in the front I think it would be worth a $50 gamble. if it was me i would try it
thats what I was kinda thinking.
broken or damaged? If its broke, it dont work. If its damaged it can work fine just have some damage.

Explain how it will not work now?:corn:

It appears to me, that the pin is just a locating dowel, and shouldn't hinder the function or strength of it(too much), correct me if I am wrong.

Actually that pin is very important in the operation of those style lockers.

If its just a locating dowel and shouldn't hinder the function or strength of the locker, then why did it break? Obviously there is more stress there than you would imagine and if that were to break away anymore, I doubt the pin would stay put making the locker junk.

Now if it could be repaired, then it might be worth it to give it a try but personally I would pass on it and get a good one.

Alright, I am gonna pass on it, an try to get one in a better shape, I was just hopin I had found a good deal. I is poor right now, but if i have a locker go caput an destroy my diff, then I am really screwed.

Hi All:

Ha! Very true!! :redneck:

Seriously, pony-up the $300 for a new Aussie Locker/Lockrite/E-ZLocker and while you are installing it in the frontend rebuild that front axle, you will be happier in the long run.

Good luck!

Alan
