Lockers?

Don't know that I'd even waste wire on either....but if your on bigger tires, & lookin for better traction (for a short time til it grenades!:redneck:), then I'd say go for it!!! Weld that sucker up!!!

It isn't really worth it to put a locker in a stock ZJ rear end. Unless you only wheel mild.

It would be better to put a bigger and better rear axle underneath it if you are going to do any serious wheelin.

im just a mild wheeler and it would be nice to be able to have that extra traction every once in awhile. its a dana 35 rear. and 30 front.

what have you heard bout aussie lockers. i have heard they work realy well. would that be good for a 35?

unfortunately, if you can, you REALLY should ditch the dana 35.... even mild wheeling will be running a risk everytime of grenading that poor rear axle...

you know where i can find a bigger axle for cheap. i know i run that risk but moneys tight.

You can get a ford 9 inch or D60 rear for about $100

A for 8.8 rear end will run you around $400 plus locker, plus brackets plus brake lines and such you are into the rear end for about $1000 to $1500 This axle is great, no need to change bolt patterns on the wheels and can stand some rather robust treatment.

On the other hand you can outfit a bigger axle (ford 9 or Dana 60) for about the same price, it just takes a little more work, and the wheel bolt patterns won't be the same.

Or you can slap a lunchbox locker in your 35 and wait till it leaves you stranded somewhere.

yea i just want somthing to get me by for now. i intend to do a axle swap. i just want somthing that will get me by

Aussie locker in a D35 would do the trick for you right now, just be aware that you can't be romping on it too hard, especially if you're running larger than stock tires.

What part of Washington are you in??

Anywhere near the South End? Pick-a-part in Oly has 8.8 for $135 drum, $165(IIRC) for disks. 4.10's are common enough you should find one fairly easy then slap in a lunchbox locker.

no im north end. just south of everett in bothell. i got 31 in tires on for now. dont plan on going bigger for awhile. when i go bigger is when i get the bigger axle or a bigger lift.
