Someone told me yesterday that there is a $25k bounty hill coming up soon. While I won't be running it or anything, I think that's awesome. It made me think though ...

... someone should establish a hill whereby they gather the bounty together for it and then if no one makes it, instead of giving it to the guy who made it the furthest, put it in a bank account until next time when they add onto it. Just keep adding until someone gets the hill. I bet there could be some hills worth $100,000+ eventually.

Just a thought I had.

As usual I agree.. Now thats using ur noggin .. Dam 25K,,, how awesome would it be for someone take the risk of building a rig LCOG, HIGH HP, and serious diggin tires and come out and crush everyone. **** would be cool. End up gettin rig and cash for free. :woot:

The 25k hill is at AOP. Tom told us it would b s 3 weekend deal. If you climb it you gotta come the next
Weekend and defend your time. If I understood right.

Re:

If you climb it the first weekend, then you will have to option to run it again if someone beats your time. The hill will be covered in plastic before and after each event to try and keep it in the same conditions.

Re:

That goes for if you are the fastest the first event then you can defend that time at the next event, or even the 3rd event. He is giving a total of 60 drivers a chance. No way to do that in 1 day. So he is doing 20 per event but also giving them a 10 min time limit

May have already seen this but here is the thread on the bounty hill. Pretty much what you said is what Tom has done. This will be the 3rd or 4th time this hill has been ran and every time he has held the money and added to it.

Bobby Tanner and Jaime Whitaker was damn close to launching it last time. Bobby never stopped moving until the atlas gave up on him. Yes I realize there is still a whole nother hill above where both of them were.

No, I hadn't seen the thread and didn't know that's how it was going to work. My shop-mate, Mark (nwflyj) mentioned the $25k bounty yesterday and that's when I thought of the compounding effect of repeated $25k comps. But that's great to hear. I bet it will be wild.

I can promise you one thing. The dang recovery crew worked their butt off and I promise they are not looking forward to this. I might be exaggerating a lil but out of 40 buggies that hit it 2 didn't have to be recovered/flipped back over. :****:

Re:

We are looking forward to this, I just hope the Damn thing gets climbed. All the drivers that I have talked to, think that hill can be climbed.

That is a nasty hill, as usual pics and video don't do it justice. Steep sumbitch, will be there for sure when they are tryin on it.

This has been done before and some people got their hands on it before hill was climbed and funds where spent from my understanding Very good idea tho I say that you be keeper of the funds

Re:

That's sad. But apparently this idea is being done and I just wasn't aware. So this thread was dead before it ever got started.

only 20 drivers and invite only.......I see some people getting butt hurt over this if they don't make the invite list. :dunno: I know there are a lot of capable buggies out there and with a bounty hill...anyone has a chance. hard to limit it to 20 drivers. if it were me I would be doing a qualifier hill or something to make it fair. fastest 20 get a shot at the bounty hill.

If you raced in the series at Adventure offroad this year you get first pick if you want to run the hill. It's a way of showing thanks for supporting AOP, at least that is what was explained to me.

I wheel AOP all the time, I've been all over that hill and been to all the comps they've held to run the bounty hill so far. I was even at a "secret" running of the hill where one competitor made it further than anyone else has ever made it and he still wasn't even close and had nothing for the next ledge. My opinion, it won't get climbed. Tom disagrees with me, so do a lot of the drivers. We'll see if I get proved wrong.

Well, any of us that wheel regularly know that trails either get easier with time or impossible. Time will tell.

I remember hiking up impossible at hot springs. Every ledge I just kept thinkin, holy freakin cow. No way anyone is makin this without a winch. Then I saw Timmy do it a couple months ago.

Anything is possible I spose. Can't wait to see the attempts

Man I don't know, Bobby and Jamie both put a hurtin on it last time, I know that was only half way but seeing TC and that 1000 ponies launch that first ledge like it wasn't even there I'm optimistic. BUT I believe its gonna take one of the big horse power rigs and a huge set of nuts to make it happen. :driving:
