After a little over a year of riding I have really enjoyed this buggy. It has tons of power, is built like a tank, and doesn't break. I really don't need to sell it. But every time I'm out riding I just wish I was with my daughter instead and I've decided that its time to adjust my life around a little. I don't know if I'm getting out of the game permanently or just need to tone it down some. But I am 100% certain that I am no longer into the type of wheeling that this buggy was built for so its time to throw it out there and see what happens. Please note that I will be riding this while it is for sale. So it may not be washed and waxed if you come see it.

What this buggy is: A 5400lbs tank built to be relentlessly beaten without blinking. In that it is a successful build. I have broken nothing since the initial build. It sits very low, probably one of the lowest rockwell rigs you'll ever see. As such it is insanely stable. I have pulled up on steep hill that people in front of me rolled down, done a rear-steer turnaround, parked it sideways, all without feeling remotely unstable. On many obstacles it will just stock to the rocks like Spiderman. My buddy told me one time he was spotting me that I got the most sideways he has ever seen any rig get without rolling. I have never been able to roll it sideways.

What this buggy IS NOT: A light-weight SRRS racer that you are going to go out and dominate the competition with. If you are looking for a race car, keep looking. (Although it really does like to go fast!)

  • EOR 321 chassis w/custom rolled tubes.
  • 2005 Chevy SSR all-aluminum LS2, (used obviously). Had 23,000 miles on it when it went in the buggy, maybe 1000 since. Stock 400 hp motor but I have added flow-through fuel rails. The wiring harness is custom built to the rig.
  • TH400, completely rebuilt roughly about a year ago with performance clutches and the fancy sprag. Transgo reprogram kit allows full manual shifting while retaining compression braking. 3rd gear can be converted back to auto w/small modification to external of trans.
  • Art Carr shifter w/custom gate to allow instant shift into rev. if needed.
  • TCS billet 2500 stall converter.
  • Air-shifted Lo-Max 3:1 NP205, 32-spline outputs front and rear.
  • Puma 100% duty cycle OBA.
  • Steering rockwells front and rear, completely rebuilt, Patooyee's Parts Wilwood pinion brakes.
  • Front has Ouverson chromo shafts and Ouverson locker, 10" DE ram for steering.
  • Rear has Ouverson 2" shafts w/spool, 8" SE ram for steering.
  • Fox 2" remote res. coil overs on all 4 corners. (14" front, 16" rear.) Some tuning done by Zukizzy / Wayne lrealson from Alltech Motorsports.
  • Fox 2" bumps front and rear.
  • Dual PS pumps, completely separate systems, can steer rear at the same time as front with no performance degradation at either.
  • 43" TSL Stickies - only 3 rides on them and a brand new spare.
  • Custom re-centered 12-bolt H1 double beadlocks.
  • Ballistic Forged rebuildable 1.25" suspension joints just put in before the last ride.
  • Rear lower links are Heretic Fab heat treated chromo. All others are thick-wall DOM.
  • Corbeau vinyl suspension seats.
  • G-Force 5-point harnesses w/quick-release latch.
  • Stazworks return to center system. (Currently inop due to damaged sensing ram.)
  • Allstar 29x19 aluminum radiator w/Taurus fan. (This engine will not overheat, does not matter what you do to it, the fan RARELY goes into high speed.)
  • Chassis is professionally painted but the color was matched to a widely available Rustoleum spray can for easy touch-ups.
  • AR skid plates
  • ALL fluid lines are –AN except coolant. All are braided stainless except hydro.
  • Custom aluminum fuel cell, holds about 17 gallons.
  • Yellow Top Optima battery.
  • Custom 3-piece front driveshaft.
  • All driveshaft joints are 1410.
  • Has Rousch Racing fluid coolers with dedicated fans, 1 for each hydro system, and 2 for the trans.
  • Moroso 3-quart oil accumulator w/ignition-operated solenoid valve.
  • Has 2x 5-lbs. Hal-Guard extinguishers + one more hooked up to 2 nozzles in the engine compartment for quick-dousing engine fires from the drive seat.
  • Custom 1.75" headers into dual 3.5" Dynomax Bullet mufflers. (VERY aggressive exhaust.)
  • Custom switch panel using Carling Contoura Rocker Switches.
  • Autometer Sport Comp gauges w/blue LED bulbs. Oil Pressure, Trans Temp, Voltmeter, Water Temp. Also has an inop speedometer.
  • Electric line-lock front, manual rear.
  • Warn M8000 winch w/contactor, no solenoids needed. 3/8 synthetic winch line.
  • Two 6" LED light bars
  • 5'9" to top of the cage, 16-18" belly height depending on where you measure from, 120" wheelbase. I have had it up to about 60mph offroad and it is very stable, jumped it a little bit and it lands fairly soft.

$35,000, I'm not taking offers at this time, please don't bother. No trades. Located in Milton, FL.

Email [email protected], I'm happy to answer questions. We can exchange phone numbers if you're serious.

This is a pic of it when I first built it during a photo shoot with the blue angels.

:wtflol: anyone need a kidney? I'll sell one right now for $35000

Seeing you buggy finished was one of the reasons I built around rocks. Your tech and fab have always been excellent. I know from following you online that every aspect of this rig has to be well thought out. GLWS

Completely understand JJ, been there before myself. I think you'll be back when the time is right. Good luck with the sale. :dblthumb:

Really nice!! Can I ask how you pulled off that pic with blue angels? They fly over Evansville, In for the Thunder on Ohio boat races and it's just amazes me what they can do.

Bump for nice rig and jet!

Bump for nice rig and jet!

I have lots of pics with that jet and the pilots in front of my buggy. My shop-mate works a few buildings down from their hangars at NAS in Pensacola and just towed it to work with him one day and asked nicely. I couldn't believe they let him drive it out on the tarmac like that. I wasn't even there because I don't have a base pass.

The pics will come with the buggy. ;-)

Didnt ever think I'd see this go  Owner financing available? molaugh molaugh

Good luck with the sale man, wish I coulda checked it out a little more at grayrock.

Rock solid rig. Hard to put a price on all the tech that went into your build. Hope it doesn't sell so we can keep riding Remember, it cost nothing for it to sit in the shop.

This isn't really about money / cost. Its about future intent and my daughter. But I appreciate your compliments. A lot of thought and tech did go into this thing. I'm going to post some interior pics later today ...

I know exactly what you mean, i feel absolutely miserable everytime i'm away from my kids. Good luck with the sale, I can't imagine that there is a better built or more well thought out rock crawler available anywhere on the planet....

Nope. No way can u be done for good. There's just no way. I Understand for sure about the kids thing. Everytime I go riding I never make it a whole weekend Before Gettin home sick and dippin. Maybe it's just time for a 4 seat trail rig. but Ya gotta have somthing. Cause if Folks like U get out, then folks like me can never get in. We are lucky to have guys like you, TBITOY, etc. Without YAll , dummy's like me would be sitting in garage with no clue where to start. Good luck selling this beast JJ.. I would say it's As nice as they come. Sell it and come pick up this samurai! Ha!! Talk bout change! Haha. :smoke:

Can't think of a better reason to sell a rig. One of the reasons I have a jeep based rig with a mandatory backseat...

Awesome buggy and a great deal for the $$.

GLWS!!

Thanks again, ya'll.

Here's the original build thread: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/general-4x4-discussion/748630-my-new-build-thread.html

A lot has changed since then. The stuff I can think of:
  • The fuel cell toward the end of that thread is no longer there. It is now bigger with a better pickup system with redundant in-tank pumps.
  • Rear tube work has been redone to accommodate bigger fuel cell and better mounting method for the radiator.
  • Winch is now mounted on the chassis.
  • Eliminated fuel cooler.

I couldn't get my camera to take great pics with the dome lights on, but these show how every little light in the rig has been converted to LED blue to match the color scheme. Even the stock gauge incandescent bulbs were scrapped in favor of blue LED's. The only lights that aren't blue are the 6" lights bars and the rock lights.
