I've done several of these conversions just not in a TJ. Got a couple of questions for those that have done this conversion. Customer wants to use all premanufactured parts so thats fine with me. Looking at Advance Adapters kit that has almost everything needed to do the install. Bolting up to a NV3550 out of a 02 TJ. My questions are...Exhaust, looks like the stock manifolds from a truck will work? Fuel lines, what did you do here? Did the steering shaft interfere with anything? What did you do about a throttle cable? And I think thats all for now. If you can think of something that I have not mentioned please feel free to post up the insight! Thanks!

my buddy has a hot 5.3 in his TJ. He used some Sanderson headers of some sort and they clear the stock TJ steering shaft bracket and I am pretty sure the stock truck manifolds are about the same dimensions as they are. He has drive by wire, so I am not sure about the throttle, but I know on my S10, I was able to reuse the stock throttle cable. Fuel lines, he used the Earls conversion fittings from the GM fuel rail to AN style fitting and steel braided line. He is also using the stock TJ sending unit/fuel pump in his fuel cell. the truck intake is tall as hell and might cause some issues with the hood, not 100% sure on that since he has a LS6 intake.

hope that helps some.

Just trying to cover all bases here. Trying to lay a time line and a labor price down for customer. Just dont want to run into any snags if you know what I mean. ;D

Luke that jeep still had the 4.0 in it. Kelly didnt put a LS style motor in it. I know he has a couple other rigs and a cj. Here is a real good thread on pirate

Most guys seems to run block hugger headers and run the driver side exhaut under the pan and into the passenger side. Seems like most people dont have to much trouble with the 5.3 intake besides guys that lower there grill. Some guys use the factory fuel pump like brian said. I would tell you how im doing mine but I dont think it will be much help as there not much tj left ;D

I am in the prosses of putting a 6.0 truck moter in a TJ and I ordered the moter mounts from Advanced adapters and they came with a mount already made on them for the stock steering shaft and a little book that tells you a lot of the little things you need to know, with part numbers. I don't know about the LS motor but with the truck motor the manifolds are tight. I am using all chevrolet stuff so I was able to move all of my stuff around. Hope this helps.

For the throttle cable....you could use some Lokar pieces to get the job done

OR
I found a local motorcycle shop that will make custom length throttle cables for us. I just need to take him the dimensions & let him know what ends I need on either side.

You might call around to some Dirt Bike/Quad shops & just ask
