I've got 2000 LS1 from a Camaro. Thinking about doing a cam swap to get a little more low end torque. Any suggestions for a good cam for a rock crawler? Thanks

I cut my 5.3 heads down .030 and put an ls1 cam in it. Made a world of difference. Really nice gain for cheap.
But if you call comp cams give them all the info they will set you up with the best cam.

I put a comp cams hr273 in mine and I am very happy with it.. Laid down a solid 410hp with nothing more than tuning. Mild head mods, ported intake, and roller rockers got me to 475hp with ease

Sorry, listed the wrong cam.. I thought it was a 273, but its actually a xr275hr cam. Specs are in the link

I got the cam as part of a kit that included a preprogrammed Delpi MEFI ECM and harness. I added Comp beehive springs, and GMPP standard ratio roller rockers. Compression ratio was brought up to 11:1, and the intake/exhauset ports were port mached to the intake and the 1.75" primary headers that I built (midtube headers). If you search LS1 ported intake you should be able to find many threads on it. Basically you take a dremel and smooth the interior of the intake for better flow. My LS1 is an '02&up, so it already has the LS6 style intake on it (no egr right behind the throttle body). I am also running larger injectors but I don't remember the flow rating. The ecm was originally programmed for just the cam, so after all the mods were done, the jeep was taken and tuned on a dyno.

I really like this cam. It starts building power right off idle, and really pulls hard in the midrange to top end. Its got a nice lopey idle, but not so bad that it makes idling around with a manual trans a jerkey experience. I like it enough in fact that I am building a similar engine for my new buggy, although I am toiying with adding a supercharger in the mix

Here are the only videos I have of the jeep
