I have been looking at a few motors and wondering what would be the best for a bouncer. I know a few people run lq9s and some ls1. I have been reading some on the lt1 and being able to put a bigger stroker kit it in and it's a lot cheaper but didn't know if the fuel injection system on them would work or if I would have to put a different injection system on it. If that's the case would I be better off running a ls motor then

I have a Ram Jet 350 in my buggy, similar to an LT1. 350 hp and 400 tq. The woman's buggy has an LS1.
Supposed to be the same hp but the LS1 turns nearly 7000 rpm and revs a lot faster. My buggy is in line for an LS swap in the next few weeks.
You can get LS1s pretty cheap and there's lots of guys tuning them. That's how I'd go. I figure there's a reason all the new buggies have LS's.

I have a TJ I built for cruising on the street. I bought a (what I thought at the time) cheap LT-1. Wired it for stand alone and put all the new parts on it I thought it needed. I can say with all honesty, I hate that motor, runs like crap, constant problems, weird accessories & locations and the fuel mileage sucks. I'm talking 8-9mpg in a TJ with 33's......... I also have a Buggy with the 5.3HO and as far as I'm concerned, it's the bomb!!! As a matter o fact, I just made a deal last week for another 5.3HO, and it's going in the TJ.........just my .02.....

My jeep has an LT1, I have had great luck with it. This Engine has been in the Jeep for several years. I will run it until it dies. It is great for what I do. I have often thought about doing some upgrades to it. But I never do cause if it goes south I will put a 6.0 in it. That being said go with an LS based motor more tunable, more aftermarket parts.

Do any of you guys run a ls3 I found one for a decent price 2750 with harness and ECM seems that maybe be a better way to go rather than a lq9

Swapping from my LT1 to my LS was the best decision I ever made. And dont forget the reverse rotation steering pump when bringing up the flaws of the LT1 and as said already the opti spark.

That has to be " american pickup salvage" William Bandy is the owner. Have heard good and bad things about his motors. I have been screwed by his high prices multiple times. I am local to paragould BTW. Seems he likes shipping motors away rather than selling local. GL with your purchase.
