Re:

I bit the bullet and got one through Amazon. Using the Discover cash back....was a smooth 197$

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Re:

Do these valves pretty much have the same size fittings/threads/steering input on them for connection? Like a universal size?

Thankfully I've never had to deal with an orbital or steering valve before... hopefully after this I won't have to do it again.

I cant remember the spline count on my "column" off hand. Mine should be here today and I will post up when I get it.
On my YJ - I used the proper spline count column into the orbitol then from the column to the shaft I used a joint that was splined the same as the column on one end and unsplined on the other side. Cut down the OEM shaft and welded it into the steering joint. That way I kept my OEM column and wheel.
I bought the steering joint from a local Smileys racing at about $20 cheaper than PSC IIRC.

Hope this helps.

(edited to clarify orbitol/column/steering joint)

Random derail. What were you using on the astro box? I'm pretty sure I could make something I got work, but if it is something I can grab from the pick and pull...

I "thought it was a stock rag joint...but may have been mistaken...
I would do what I listed above...find a joint with the right spline counts and rock and roll.BTW - the joint I had was shot - or I would send it to you... It wouldnt be worth putting on your rig.

You would be surprised whats worth putting on my rig laughing1 I was hoping it would be some kinda stock joint and not some speedway coupler part, appreciate it thumb.gif

Here's the one that just got delivered to me. You will need a 12 spline adapter

most fittings on the ones I've dealt are 1/2" MB (male boss) iirc. As for teh spline, not sure if all are universal. Columns aren't cheap. if you're ordering from PSC, and get a column, they have several input splines like the stock jeep one, stock chevy, etc so you can hook your stock shaft right up to the orbital. Or you can get smooth 3/4" and get a roundy round joint and put right on
