On my YJ - I used the proper spline count to the orbitol on one side of the steering joint then unsplined on the other side, and cut down the OEM shaft and welded it into the steering joint. That way I kept my OEM column and wheel.
I bought the steering joint from a local Smileys racing at about $20 cheaper than PSC IIRC.
