Ok so I have been doing a little reading and talked a little with pokey a while back on this and the motor will be ready on sat to stuff back into the rig...

So since I am redoing the pedal assy on gibby's rig--and the fact his lil boy is going to be driving it--it only makes sense to swap the clutch to hydro. Now my plan was going to be simple and use what I have used on my 4.3 conversions-- fj40 master/slave and just make a bracket for the slave (stock trans). Now I know this isn't rocket science and I pretty much know what i am doing--but I figured I would ask if there was a better combo out there to use..

Thanks for any input...

Where do you get your fj40 stuff? If you're starting from scratch, this isn't a bad deal: http://coolfj40.stores.yahoo.net/clutmasslavc.html

I bought the whole kit a while back when I was tired of rebuilding the old cylinders and I've got nothing bad to say about it at all - especially since it's on sale now.

I'm sure there is a cheaper way to piece parts together to make your own kit, but it's one option.

Whatever you do Crash man im gonna come over and look at it and replicate on my rig if you dont mind:D

speedwaymotors.com has some sweet hydro clutch setups for cheap. Pusher or puller slaves wither way nice parts.

Thats what I'm using on my flattie. You can get them so the reservoir is on the inside or outside the firewall. They also have a clutch/brake combo that has a balance bar so you can adjust the front/rear bias. Really a good setup.
