Lovell brothers steering on the Ranger buggy... its assist with a box. Thoughts , concerns research anyone looked at this much ?

I know Keith Bailey originally had a box on his Bruiser Chassis but took it off and opted Full Hydro... I also hear he just ran a grip and a half of street miles during the UA this year

Lovell bro's have ran there's in EVERYTHING situation wise and it still rocks a box. I dig that and Im sure its really responsive... Probably mostly due to a selectable front locker though id imagine.

Anyway, just thinking outloud and tryin to educate my person on different setups...

Lets talk laughing1

it gives you a mechanical connection to your steering---vs. a fluid system where pressure variation can result in inconsistent steering response.

Didn't the Lovell's do that for WeRock rules?

I think it's good 'nuff for me.. I'm gonna run that setup on my yota but more along the lines of it's a $300 truck, why put $1500 in steering on it laughing1 Mine's not a buggy either.

WeRock Rules... I dont know, either way I bet it kicks ass for highspeed stuff. i wonder if it wears them out though ? :dunno:

I think they did it because of werock rules a year or so back they had to have a box. They no longer need the box due to a rules change.

However I think they are one of the few that still have it. They're still winning - why? I think that it has ALOT to do with seat time and not changing what works. They were both very familar with how it handled with a box and it worked so why change it.

In comps I constantly see guys that change something between every single event thinking that they need this/that in order to get on top, when the guys on top are the guys driving slightly out dated rigs but they've been driving them for 2-3 years.
