Is anyone running a megasquirt setup on a 6.0?I've got someone recommending one for my Buggie, but I've never been around these at all.just a 6. Liter but will have a turbo on it, looking for ease of original setup and durability.

Setup is super easy -- just a little vitamin E and some hook --> BAM!, bang bang skeet skeet.

I looked into when i was running a 331 with a vortech in a mustang only thing I didn't like was the fact that its a speed density setup which will require alot more seat time on a dyno. Why not the factory stuff??? I know the old ford a9 lcomputer was good to 650hp and low 10s in the 1/4 surely gm's newer stuffs better than that old out date ford stuff

I was planning on factory stuff but was told this setup was basically like the mast setup where it learned on the fly. With no tuning on a dyno required

False. MS Requires a decent baseline and then you can start modifying the maps from there. It does require some dyno time to get it just right. As for hooking it up and making it run, thats usually a breeze. Its what comes after that can be time consuming.

Talking to a lot of race-people, seems like megasquirt is good for sub 300hp normally aspirated engines. Anything above that, it gets tricky. It'll take a good bit of dyno time to get it to run right.

Also considering how cheap the factory harness and computer is and everything is plug n' play, that would be the way to go IMO. Just easier.

Sounds Like the factory set up is the way Im going if it has to be tuned anyway.
