I know I saw a thread on this, but cannot find it. I got my copy of Trail Mix yesterday. Guess I am still on the roster from CAOS. I feel we should join Southern as a club. I noticed Peak Empire is listed as a club.

Here is what they say:

Peak Empire Extreme Offroad - Lawrenceville, GA
Web site: www.peakempire.com
President: Ted Holt, Email
Peak Empire Extreme Offroad is a club dedicated to the extreme part of 4-wheeling. Our members are a close group with membership open only two times per year. Members must be voted in by the board. To qualify, 35" tires, 2 lockers, and a winch are required. We crawl primarily at Tellico and Gray Rock ORV.

I think we should give back to the OffRoad community. The price is the same $30, whether individual or club.

Note: Dues have increased for 2007:
2007 Membership Dues
Individual or family member $30
Club member $30

What is y'alls thinking?

Totally agree that we need to do that. If you would like to put together the paperwork/application we could bring the funds to the next meeting....

Answers to our questions:

Matt,

The 2008 membership renewal officially begins November 1st, but if anyone joins or renews from September 1st and on they are being credited with 2008 membership.
As for your list of members, everyone on the list with the exception of Ricky Berry are in the SFWDA database as members of CAOS. Rich Berry and James Dollar are current for 2007, everyone else was 2006. We are in the process of getting the database set up to accept 2008 memberships, so you can send in the current club and member information at any time.

Thanks

Rich/Ricky are you going to join seperately or just one?

That's a choice for Ricky to make on his own. I think he should have a separate membership that he pays for but that's just my opinion. I will "tote the note" if he needs financing though.

Here you go:

Matt,

Perfect timing, I was just getting ready to send out emails on the SFWDA dues increase. The 2008 dues will be $40.00 for each member. That is an increase of $10.00 from last year.

Also in case you hadn't heard there was a Notice of Intent (NOI) to file a law suit attacking the Tellico trail system.

We have formed the Rescue Tellico Committee and you can get more information at this link: www.sfwda.org/trails/tellico/index.html. Further, a response to a request for public comment letter from the USFS, see attachment, has been drafted and can be found here: http://www.sfwda.org/forum/index.php?topic=42.0

Thanks,

I have given most everybody their $15 refund back from Tellico that was going to be used for this. It was decided for everyone to join on their own. Cost is $40/year.

No everybody is in charge of filling out their own application and sending it in. You can affilitate yourself with the club though.
