Mexico not looking so good....

We have a trip planned in May to go to Playa Del Carmen, south of Cozumel. Everyone has heard of the Drug Wars going on. I am not so worried about that as I am this new strain of Swine Flu. Just read about it on Yahoo. They say that 2 vaccines wipe it out, Tamiflu and Relenza. So I am going to check with the local doctors about me and the wife and our friends getting a shot before we head out. My luck it will make me sick.
Last year just eating the food there made me sick.........

uke: . But then again it could have been all the alcohol we drank. 6 days off all you can eat and drink can bring on a sickness.... :drinkers:

Hopefully they will get their crap together before we head out.

I was just in AZ last part of the week and over the weekend. They are kinda worried about it even that far North as cases are being reported in California now as well. That **** sounds bad - I would go somewhere else man - don't be a bringing that **** back here :****:

Haven't changed my mind yet, or lets say the the air fare is still going to cost me either way and possibly the resort fee as well. Between me and my friends going we have a good chunk of the green stuff riding on this. So far it is just an emergency so they can get prepared for the worse if it happens. I got tamiflu coming taking it 10 days prior and throughout the trip, lol .

I imagine all the alcohol I will be downing should kill off that ****. Mexico City is the worse place down there as it is crowded. However we are a good 2-3 hours from there. The airport will be the issue. So clorox wipes and no kissing hot mexicans chicks when I get there......

Josh, you can get a shot for the pig flu virus and even something for Montezumas Revenge, but they aint got a shot to cure lead poisoning... Our airlines which is AirTran is not giving any money back if you are flying after May 4th. So we are still screwed. It might be retarded to go but the chances of getting it here looks to be spreading. And they still don't know for sure if it came from Mexico or from the US. But we will watch and see how things go, doctor called us in 2 scripts of Tamiflu which we will take the day before we leave and take it throughout the trip. He said that we will not get it if we take this medicine. I have a lot of cash riding on this trip so they refund or I go.....

Yes and the resort will also let me go to 2 other locations.....but..... Here is the catch, Airtran will not refund your money unless you are leaving before May 4th. They will redirect you but they don't fly to either of the other places. New tickets to one of the other locations is crazy and we would just be happy to get our money back on air fare...
