I am sending you a note to see if any suppliers or manufacturers would be interested in helping on a project I am involved in as well as a local off road shop. Take the time to go to the link below and see. Patrick Evans and Jeff Shellnut are missionaries to Nigeria and have been there for about five years. I have known these guys for over twenty years and they are the real deal. They have endured with a well worn Land Rover for several years and it is being replaced. They have already raised enough funds to purchase a jeep but it needs to be outfitted for real off road terrain Nigerian style. This is where there are ministering, in remote villages. We have an "Old Man Emu" 4" lift suspension kit and a set of 37" Mickey Thompsons with wheels. We are going to need a locker for the rear end as well as a reprogrammer to handle the taller tire size. Any other components available for this vehicle would be greatly appreciated. We are providing the labor to install all the parts provided and we hope others will join in on this worthy cause.

I have known these guys for a long time. The first time I helped prepare a vehicle for missions work was about 15 years ago. They took a 1974 Ford school bus and converted it to a full camper. I added a bi-fuel propane conversion to the bus and added 120 gallons fuel capacity. They drove that bus to Belize and lived in it for 4 years. They ran propane once they got across the border into Mexico since it was so cheap there. They came back to the US with the bus and restocked supplies twice while there.

Give it some thought and let me if you can help.

Sincerely,

I'm going to have to look into this. My grandma is also a missionary in Nigeria. She sold her house here in the states a few years ago and permanently moved over there. Now she just visits us.

Wow! Can U imagine?

Re:

When she did it a lot of people were shocked but she was huge part of raising me and it didn't surprise me one bit. She was always a social worker and worked for HOSPICE, worked with drug addicts, ex-cons, and retired from the VA working with veterans with mental issues so growing up she was always a saint in my book. She's even caught malaria over there and had to rough it out in a African brush hospital, but she made it and refuses to leave. They treat her like a queen in the little village she lives in because she's the only white woman they've ever seen. It's on my bucket list to personally go over and thank them all for taking care of her.

Re:

People talk about having balls, doing what she did takes balls. My uncle takes missionary trips he tells me the stories still it's a big pill to swallow to leave your whole world behind you.

Buddy, I'd like to thank you for sharing your knowledge on propane even if you don't get a sale. Your tech is how I found hard line. I didn't go with pane but will use you if I ever do.

This is an easy one. Thanks for sharing. I wish I could've given more, but if everyone who sees this gives just a little... that's all this world needs.

I want to thank everyone that has replied to this post in such a positive and encouraging manner. One of the other forums has been not so kind with most of their opinions. This was shared to show what is going on in other parts of the world concerning things that matter to me and other like minded people. This vehicle may not have been the best choice possibly but it is what they have to work with. The choice of suspension upgrade and tires is what was recommended and offered to them at reduced pricing by another vendor so they went with it. Sometimes the world cannot understand when there is a calling on someone's life to do something that makes no sense to them.

Sincerely,
