That's the best I can do at present. It's cramed into the back of the shop. We've got to get it out and run it some.

Sweet Rumble Seat Coupe!

I love it. How long ago did you guys restore it, and what all did you have to do?

I was pretty young when we redid it. I know my dad and I took it to the frame, sand blasted everything. Anything that was working or cohersed into working we left alone. It has a rebuilt engine, needs a new paint job and alittle touch up body work. Took off the homemade roof and redid with cloth. added the rumble seat it was gone. all new glass. I think we worked on it for a year or two.

You need to get that thing out and put some miles on it locally. Mechanical brakes are something everyone should experience!!!

Ive got a 28-29 sedan. Shopping for parts to make a trail rig out of it. 3800 super charged, 700r4, 300. 37s, chopped 3 in, filled roof, 4 link. No fenders. Some thing I can drive to Colorado and run the trails. Did the bodt 17 years ago. need to build the chassis next. Should be fun

I wish the 30-31's kept the cowl line like the 28-29's that swoop up to the A pillar makes them IMO.
Seadan trail rig? Really? Brian you should make a little hot rod out of that thing. Be real coolllll!!!

Heres a couple guys cars that I run with here in Houston.
The front one has a roll cage that would make all of you cream your shorts. Very Coleworx..... And he needs it, thats a doorslammer motor that used to run in the 8's. He detuned it a bit, but still have to run a blend of high test and racefuel.

JRich has me hooked up on a 56 Chevy truck if I want it... doesnt have a bed but everything else is there and its sitting in a field for cheap.

OMG you are in a perfect position (sorry to egg him on Ambo) to build this. I have had this saved in my photobucket since the day I saw it.

Thom Taylor is always doing spins on current vehicles. You can search his name on gogle and come up with his renderings but the last 4 years or so he'll do a block of 5 for an issue or so a year for Rod & Custom. They envolve taking a year car (usually something that is cheap and more readily available. Then sectioning out everything that doesn't look cool and mounting them on a Model A frame. Examples of stuff that people have done on his inspiration would be the Lunar Lander.
Built by this corn farmer in Illinois, Aaron Grote. Dont remember what it started as but a '58 Olds comes to my mind.

This is the one I want to do. '55-59 Chevy truck. Its a fleetside bed that they shortened way up and narrowed. I would think you could find a '60-63 Cadillac or Chevy car to steel the back half off of or the quarters and make your own bed. You'd have to cur it down the center of the truck and narrow it to fit on a Model A style frame (2x4 tubing stepped up front and back, and section it down 6"s or so under the body line. Basically cut the truck into a pile of pieces remove some excess and put back together.
I, lust this thing. You couldn't depart too much from the drawing as it's borderline abortion. Thats a fine fine line

Oh yea... that cut off top and cut down A pillar on the drawing make my mouth water... drool

that is were I need to start. The no bed thing had me worried but Ill make something work.. The cab cut like that fits the topless criteria I want and the truck cab itself is sexy.. ( I love ol trucks )

cheap-o build with the ol' mans 400+ hp 383 and that thing would be SICK ! :woody:

I ve already got the chassis done to be streetrod. I think a 4x4 would be way more fun. Nothing too tall,m buggy style in the belly clearance.

I dont know man... I like old sheetmetal alot I couldnt bring myself to 4x one laughing1

The more I look at the 56 the more I dont feel it... Its just to much sheetmetal and not what I "really" want

Im still thinking it needs to be a decade or 2 older sheetmetal than 56....

More along these lines.....

As for as cars I have a few on my list, I figure I'll knock'em out every couple of years or so.
No particular order
1. 70's era nova 2 door
2. 56-early 70's Cadilac covertible
3.Lincoln with suicide doors
4. 65- 68 galaxy fast back

Hell yeah Brian, pics make everything better. I'm a huge fan of the '60 over the '59 tailfins though. But I'd take either. Paul you are a flatbillin' balla!
