Only the accessories will make it have more power.

A buddy mine, that has a shop where locally was just telling me how much power he just got out of a 5.3. He was comparing it to a turnkey 6.0. I forget what all he did, but I will be seeing him Wenesday and I'll ask.
On another note a local hot rod shop is getting 400+- out of 5.3's pretty easily. They quoted me right at $1500 for the work.

I would be interested in knowing what they are doing to get 400HP from a 5.3. I am sure it is head/cam stuff, along with supporting valve train and tune. I pretty happy with my LS6 cam, but I will always lust for more power.

Ya they tell me, I listen and nod the head like I understand, and go umhum thats awsome. In reality motor talk always sound like mexican to me. Too much info for my head to take in all at once. Probably need to start writing it down.

wow I posted fast and dind't read what I posted. I mean cam and springs. Would that be an upgrade was my question.

He added ls6 cam and springs. He can keep up with a turnkey 5.3 in a comparable buggy. He still has to do a tune and 80lb injectors. So it should be even faster.

why would anyone need 80 lb injectors

i mean does it have an F1 procharger or an 88mm turbo.
i have built several ls1 and just a cam swap will not net you the need to run that big of injector?
