What motor oil is everyone using now? I know this was brought up right after DELO changed their stuff but it's been a while now. What's the latest?

I found a place locally that still stocks the Old delo stuff in 1 gallon containers so I switched back to that :redneck:

Valvoline Premium Blue 15w40, its still the Ci-4 stuff so its good stuff still.

What Delo did is they made it low emmisions by taking the Zinc out of it, its got o.13% zinc where as the premium blue has 2.00% zinc in it, and zinc acts as a lubricant for wearing parts.

CJ-4=no zinc (delo 400 LE)
CI-4=Zinc(rotella, vavoline premium blue)

Some time ago the NAPA on airport road in Everett had tons of the old DELO but it was all like straight 30wt.

5 Gallon buckets of Delo 400 are the Ci-4 as well, they are targeting the average consumer with the change

I wasn't sure if these guys stocked the stuff or if it was left over.. When I asked the guy at the counter, it sounds like they keep enough for one trucks oil change on the shelf..

I assume everyine is reffering to the Delo 400 Low Emissions oil?

What's the problem with it?

Yes Delo 400 LE

Quoted from my post earlier:awesomework:

What's the average percentage of zinc in standard motor oils for regular cars and trucks?

Good question, i do know they have been slowly fasing it out of refular motor oil as well, some of the hot rod guys that come into the store put diesel oil into there cars because it has zinc in it:eeek:

for reference here is standard Valvoline oil Product Data sheet, looks like.08%
