So my rig is all torn apart and I was thinking since I need to make all new mounts from engine to t-case maybe I would move the motor back. My question is would it be worth it only being able to move it back 5-6 inches?

Would it help? I can't say, would it change the way it work's, yes definitely. It all depend's on what you are doing with your truck. Being a toyota I guess you can say it will help at least a little since the motor's are overly far foreward.

When I put a flatbed on my Toy, which I was using for wheeling and PNW races, I moved my cab back a lil over three inches. I just cut off the body mounts and moved them back and welded them back on. When I got done I had 51% rear weight, not a big deal on wheeling, other then it could back up better when backing up hill.... However in the PNW races, I feel that it did help the handling out a lot. I had plans of putting a V-8 in it for more power, but it is still running a 4 banger in it even now, and no longer race it at all.

I have to build all new mounts for engine, tranny, tcase. how I had them before was just now working. my cab is now completely gone and I have the room to move everyting back. It would also clear my oil pan from my steering ram, witch I have had trouples with. I also do racing and tuff truck with jumps not just wheeling so I think it might help out there. Just a few reasons why I might. So it sounds like a little movement can be noticed so I think I will do the move.

I moved the motor back a ways in my current build, and I also moved the front axle forward so that the entire motor is about 6 inches behind the axle centerline. IMO I think that it's the way to go:awesomework: . You'll be able to get a buttload more traction with the weight farther back. Plus it will fly much, much better:cool: :redneck:
