Really needing a rev limiter for the jeep and was thinking about going the route of an MSD 6AL box. Current set up is a late 90's vortec motor with TBI injection. Will the MSD box work with the computer?

Any thoughts???

I have an MSD 6AL with my Howell TBI and you need to make sure that your distributor has the "brain" portion removed and you will also need a electronic wave changer capacitor. It changes your round wave source to a square wave source which is what the MSD runs, (or vice versa). Then, you will have the option of running a chip style rev limiter or the knob style rev limiter ( i have the knob style) The knob style lets you adjust on the fly for differnet situations and terrain. I am sure someone will chime in with a better idea as I am not a Know it all, and don't claim to be. Just what I am currently running. thumb.gif

Holy hell... I beat that is the "quirky" ness issue Im having with my damn setup. I dont know what the "brain portion" you speak of is that needs removed. nd I do not have a "electronic wave changer capacitor" either. Im running a cheapy summit ignition box, but if the wave's need to be changed from a TBI style distributor setup my certainly is not. I just plugged it all in without thought ... Hmmm guess I need to edubacate myself on this. I've been thinking I had a fuel delivery issue mine doesnt run right or like it should at all.....

Damn - come on ::)

I just was not sure how it wouold affect the computor ir if at all as I have never ran one of these with a fuel injection set up.

**** - :flipoff1:

Pull off the distributor cap, the wires go into and up to a small processor, pull that **** out and the wires will go through and down next to the shaft and connect up with them. Then there is an inline pulse conversion that MSD sells to convert it. cOnFusIng I k now. Starting to spin.
