After 3 years of screwing with trying to get others to bail our hay for us, we got fully outfitted in the hay business this year. We also pickued up a neighbors field to cut and bail. We got around 150 bales off our place and will get 200+ off the neighbors.

I kinda screwed up some of the first ones letting the bailer get heavy on one side or the other. They don't stack worth ****. But after about 20 like that I nailed it and can bail a mean bail of hay.

I have about 200 bales to sell of fertilized Rye 4x5 bales if anyone needs hay.

:dunno: what does a bail of hay sell for?

I am from farm country, but never lived on a farm. Just worked on them. Yes I have bailed hay, squares that prolly weighed more than I did. laughing1

Depending on drought conditions. Round here a good bale like mine would go for $50 a bale. When it was so dry in Texas we were paying $90-$100 a bale.

Now the Diesel and fertilizer has gone through the roof $50 is a good deal.

Heck if you get $50 per bale maybe I should buy some more and sell them where u r at I just bought 30 bales today in the field for $25 per bale loaded on my trailer.

I think he has horse hay. Round bales around here are selling for $30. Thats for cow hay.

Yeah it is horse hay. Fertilized, packed real tight....

Hell, I have paid anywhere from $20 - $60 here, depends on the water conditions/availability.

Guy that works with me has about 30 cows. All his cows are great calf producers, so he's selling just enough to get by, mostly calves and trying to hold on to his good cows. We always tease him that he has his cows trained to give birth only on the weekends. believe it or not most do.

We were selling 1200#'s for $30 two years ago, and had to buy $50 delivered last year. Haven't been home to see how the 1st cut is looking, but it keeps raining so it should be good.

Yeah Nolen, I rmember when round in Texas were $100-140 depending on how far south you went. I hauled 6 loads of squares to Brenham, TX in '99 or '00 and got $10 a bail in the Walmart parking lot. Silly money!

pretty flowers ya HOMO :flipoff1:

Lovin the pics and the ponds, were headed for the family farm to build next spring.

I NEED a tractor but I'm not willing to sell all my toys to get one yet.
