Well i guess ill start a build here since thats all ive been doing for the last five slow years lol

bought the thing stock ordered 4 inch procomp and a set 35fgs and basically wheeled it until i blew my trans lost rev 5th and 4th so when i got tierd of creative parking and driving to work at 40mph i started in on it and yanked everything eng trans tcase and both axles and went shopping bought a 76 wagggy that ran and started gutting it put front and rear 44 in the yj put the eng trans and tcase in and the waggy front springs went to the yard for 2 more front springs for the rear and soa all the way around and then stopped ... I didnt like it so i yanked the amc th400quadratrac out and nothing happened for like 1year then my buddy said he had a sick azzz sb for sale that i could have for 800.00 hmmm thats alot for a man raising a family so i made payments almost a year later im off work lookin in the paper it says trans tcase and rear end for sale 250.00 so i call and head over to see what he has ( this guy didnt know he said its all going to the scrapper here soon) anyway it was a sm465/205 and a corp 14 hmmm i better get it so i offered him 200.00 and he took it then left me to load the hernia forming gold mine into my truck .. Alone lol

Today it is all in the eng trans tcase rear and front ive done all the work alone because all of my wheeling friends have sold their crap and i really dont know anyone well enought to ask for help so my wife and i mocked up the eng mounts with a bare 327 and everything else kinda fell into place so im finishing my build here i have alot of little crap to do and tubing for a roll cage and possibly a frame streatch in the future especially after seeing nuzzys bad ass build ( but i think that will wait until i swap out the front for a 60 because 38s and a 44 front will be keeping me frustrated enought for a while lol)...so here we go ....

hope tomorrow to get on my 6 to 8 lug swap and front driveline ...

build

thks cowboy im keepin my eye our for a front 60 and started my 60 savings envelope last week lol im finishin the hydro clutch today and front drivline and reinforced trans tcase mount and then its off to changing the 44 from 6 to 8 lug outers ...

im not sure if dodge axles will work under your jeep as for driveline drop side. if they will work i know where theres a 60 rear and 70 front for sale. the guy doesnt have asking prices, you would just need to make a bid. if interested and it will work for ya, ill look for his number again.

crap

thks cowboy ill have to call him im only 15 miles north of woodland lol thats cool ... And yeah war lol i picked up 4 mt baha belted 39.5x18on 15inch rims for 100.00 two years ago lol dont think ill use them much im going to try them on some sand the 14b should hold up to that lol but thankyou for the props time to go dig in again for a few hrs ...Sean

Looks good, but I think yer gonna need at least one high steer knuckle, that drag link looks like bump steer city. :D

lol

Your right man bump steer city, Im not sure how to do the flat top histeer conversion yet, i have the d44 waggy axle so i think i have the right stuff but then i really want a 60 so i dont know if i should put the time into the 44 either lol but thankyou for the props i check out your jeep and im likin your build man it looks really good ......i should do the cross over hi steer on the 44 now so i know whats going on when i get my 60....

My understanding is that some of the passenger drop waggy 44's came with a flat top knuckle on the passenger side, so you might be set already, but you'll have to take a closer look... it should be flat on top, and should have three studs coming out of the top.

If not, you'll have to find one of those wagoneer flat tops that's pre-drilled/tapped for studs, or find a chevy one that will need to have the flat surface machined and drilled/tapped for studs, then you'll need to get a high steer arm and build yourself a new drag link with whatever TRE's your pitman arm and high steer arm are tapered for.

Oh yeah, and those shackles really don't look too bad... have you seen mine? :redneck:

[EDIT]: Something to consider... if you're going through the trouble to do the crossover steering, you might as well find a driver's side flat top too (chevy driver's side ones come pre-drilled/tapped with studs) and move the tie-rod up above the leafs... it's nice not having to worry about hitting it on stuff. :)

crap

Ok ill check that out on the flat tops i think ill get going on it pretty soon i have 3 front 44s so hopefully one of them is a flat top design i dont think my waggy is ill take some pics if i cant figure it out everything i have is pass drop but my 205 comes down there .. on the shackles yes i see everything you post as im folowing you and nuzzys build close, not having any other help your pics and nuzzys are really informative for my i have u guys, pirate and im in with the poorboyoffroad group for help....

well ive been kinda busy lately i built another mount for the 205 off of the pass side frame rail, welded a doubler on and some angle to mount another mount off of the np205 that sould help with the weight issues, and i did some work on my front bumper built a loop and some offroad light mounts on it i still need to make shackle mounts and a steering box protecter ... here are some pics ...
bent a peice of 1inch tubing for a stinger and smoothed all the welds on my homeade scrap ben built bumper lol
IMG_3100.jpg

added two more 3/4 inch tubing braces
IMG_3101.jpg

and some loops to brace my fairlead and they worked as my light holders to ...
IMG_3116.jpg

here is the finished product right now...
IMG_3118.jpg

its kinda hard to see with the glossy black...

some more little crap done

been workin on my tcase mouts ive heard alot of talk about people crackin their adapters and i dont wanna go there..
IMG_3317.jpg

IMG_3318.jpg

fabbed the tcase mounts and i was using the original skidplate for the adapter mount with two 3inch body lift pucks but i think that may have been a bad idea because the skid isnt very thick and with frame flex i may crack my crap....so im now fabbin the original crossmember off of the truck that i pulled the 465/205 out of...

Question.. Im running steel motormounts, and poly mounts off the side of the np205.. should i run poly mounts on my crossmember to the adapter of will the original rubber mounts work ok????

also threw together my dash with some cheapo guages and some hillbilly chrismaslight toggle switches lol
