It will not replace the KLR, but be my daily and the KLR will be designated only to explore the backroads around here. Gravel, fire roads, etc.

I will wait till the dust settles here and hope to find a used/cheaper one early Spring 08.

Im going to buy a KLR late this summer / Early next year. I need something stupid cheap and dependable for DD duty, and I like the fact that it isnt fast and I can take it off road. I think I really shoulda bought one when I bought the SuperHawk . I do miss the SH though too... :-\

Keep your eyes peeled for deals. The new 08 KLR finally changed (not a ton, mainly cosmetics) and I have a feeling older ones might come up cheap.

I almost bought one in Austin for a grand. Glad I didn't.

I know I've never really had a craving for street bikes but believe it or not I'm leaning that way more and more everyday. Got several friends doing the Harley biker thing and it's beginning to grow on me. :
