Motorized Trails Open on the Naches Ranger District
NACHES---Forest Service recreation managers will re-open motorized trails on the Naches Ranger District June 11th. After monitoring the weather and trail conditions, forest managers determined that the motorized trail system on the district is dry and ready for use.
These motorized trails were closed as part of a seasonal restriction to minimize damage to trails during the wet spring months. The seasonal closure has been an effective way for the Naches Ranger District to protect natural resources and to maintain quality trail systems.
The success of the closure is largely in part of motorized and non-motorized volunteers. Volunteers have been working with the Naches Ranger District to advertise the closure and to complete a significant amount of trail maintenance. Volunteers have also been integral in communicating with the Ranger District as to the condition of the trails.
