I need to replace the coil springs on the rear of my CJ7, it has a set of really stiff coils on it right now. There 13" at ride height but I can redo the mounts, figure i'll have to for diffrent springs and I was wanting to go with a set of capture mounts anyway.

The jeep is linked on a 14bolt, the rear has a exo bar wrapped around it and the factory rollbar, but there is no rear cage, and just a small plastic fuel cell in the back. So it would be close to what a stock CJ7 would weigh with a 14blt.

What kind of springs would you recommend for a decent ride/flex? These things are killing me, the rear just bounces when I hit something, there stiff as hell.

I think I seen someone talking about running coilover springs by themselves with a seperate shock instead of running something like TJ coils

Sorry for blurry pic, phone is a dieing POS

The shocks could be making the ride rough. I have had good luck with Chevy Caprice HD rear springs and Bilstein Shocks. Hope this helps. thumb.gif

I may be the shocks, I need an upgrade there also but the picts dont do these springs justice, they look like they belong under the front of an old ford truck.

To me they just seem really stiff. In compairson the leafs up front soak stuff up 10 times better.

Rusty's Offroad 2" lift TJ coils work good on my full body YJ. Ride height like the pic below with very low mounts.

Tj 4" rears most kits are setup for them. They will collapse all the way down

Not trying to steal the thread but who makes this kit ?
