alright guy's i'm new to building jeep's an had a few question's.
here they are.
i wanna put waggie's on my xj like they do on yota's, is this possible to do with out 6mth's of work, i know the front mount is weird so that's why i'm asking?
another is what are people's thought's on useing a d44 an a f-9"
to put under my xj??
an last, if i do go with the D44 an the f-9'' which would be the best an cheapest way to lift it cuz i would like to fit atleast 38's under it?????

thank's much....justin

Talk to NotMatt on here, he ran waggys in his XJ before moving to a wrangler. The ford running gear is going to be much wider than the waggy stuff.

Oh and cheap lift...lift blocks and spring spacers :flipoff:

It's tough to put that tall of tires on your XJ unless you go with fullwidth axles. Even then, a lot of fender trimming is required.

I did a 6" lift on an XJ. It had longarms with 5.5" Coils in the front and SOA with new springs in the rear. Even with only 33X10.50's on it, minor trimming was still required.

You can find 9" rear ends everwhere. The XJ "bolt in" 44's are few and far between. An easy, and available rear is an 8.8 from a 95+ explorer. They are inexpensive and also very easy to find.

It is all doable, the front being tougher than the rear for mounting locations. You also have to make your control arm mounting system to the "frame" beefcake because it is a unibody. It is easier to build a hefty crossmember/skidplate to attach your arms to, rather than attach them to the "framerails"

Places like Currie or Mountain Off Road Enterprises make control arm and axle perch bracketry that is pre made and ready for welding onto your axles of choice. Expect to pay 300 to 500 for the front end depending on what axle and mounting system you use. Or you could make your own brackets.

If you have more questions, http://www.naxja.org is the place to ask. But be warned, look before you leap.

But 38's on an XJ? Take pics when your done.

If it isn't already sold buy Kelly's zj or what ever it is... you will save lots of time money and headaches.

X2. That thing is turn-key, a steal of a deal, and top notch fab work.

well ****

well it sound's like it's gonna be a big pain in the butt to try an get this done,
i guess the main thing for me is trying to stay away from 33's,
i wanna use bigger tire's but if worse come's to worse i'll just lift it 8'' or so
with the slip yoke an run 36'' iroc's like my friend has on his 2 dr.
I did have in mind takeing out the back seat an just tubing the rear fenderwell's like they do on dragsters to give me more room, then do some triming on the outer fenderwell's.
Eitherway i gotta start something so i can go wheeling, Cuz if not i'm gonna go postal if i don't go wheeling some time soon!
anyhow thank's for the feed back guy's.

Why don't you use the front setup off my MJ, and we will change out the poly bushings, and put in some Johnny Joints. We can build some rear mounts, and we will use a single, or double spring out of that Chevy Full size set of leafs I have. You might be into it $500 with the SYE, and you can pick up a CV driveshaft from Olympic or somewhere, and I will shorten it for you. I will sell you the LTB's I have, so you can get out there. Just don't get your little weiner all twisted up.

Lmao..

LMAO you little bald **** head, i knew i shouldn't have taken the gag ball out your mouth, your toilet never stop's running. LMFAO.

BTW this is some dumbass buddy of mine.

Finally someone that I can be smarter than.

But seriously, just build your rig slow and work up from whatever stage you are in.

You would be amazed what you can do with 6 inches of lift and 28 inch tires.
