well i sunk my yota on the tank trap, yes i knew i wasn't gonna make it all the way but i gave it hell.
anyhow after i stoped spining an tryed to keep the motor running, i tryed to go one last time and as soon as i put it in gear an tryed to go i got nothing!
4wheel drive was in an the tranny was in 1st???
so today i pulled the t case out thinking it was broke an i put it in 4 an spun
the flange an everything seemed to be fine???
can someone give me some input on how to go about fixing this problem please..

thank's much justin

If everything in transfer is good you need to go to the next box....Will be clutch full of mud not working or you broke your tranny.

Clutch full of mud is my guess.

Is it a 3 finger style or pressure plate?

I've hosed up 3 clutches in the mud. It sucks ass. Sometimes you can get a pressure washer and spray the bejeezus out of it, but that is a marginal fix.

clutch pressure plae is packed full of mud. Time for a new clutch

the only thing is, Is when i push in the clutch it has resistence.
an i think it has a presher plate.
it's an 85 yota stock tranny an t-case.
anyhow i'll give that a go and see how it turn's out.
thank you very much.

Tank traps that still hold deep water at this time of the year are likely on soil with a high clay content. Clay is comprised of very flat particles that shear easily along their margins. It's sort of like shale that you see up in the mountains, but on a much smaller scale. The plates slide quite readily on themselves and anything else really with just the smallest amount of water as a lubricant.

So you probably have a bunch of clay in between the flywheel, clutch disk, and pressure plate. The best way to clean it out is to pull it all out and maybe replace the clutch disk, but it's probably ok with a good pressure washing. Or, you could crawl under there and have a buddy push your clutch pedal in and use the pressure washer from underneath, but that won't get it all.

I'd pull the tranny and clutch.
