NEW CAGE FOR STAN'S XP

Building a cage, bumpers, and door bars for Stan's XP. When we meet and talked about what he wanted a good strong cage with door bars.
We decided for strenght and weight savings to go with 1.5" chromoly tubing.
So here it is. Still have the door bars and rest of the cage but here is the start of it.

have you had any issues from the lower plate like it is? looks like it would become a shovel.

15 or so cages done like this and no complaints so far.
It only sticks out from the plastic a few inches, just enough for the tubing to weld to.
Plus it protects the bottom side of the diff.
 
im just curious. my plate turns up and and i have started to weld a tube between the two tubes at the edge of the plate. the first one was a huge scoop

Finally building a buggy for myself loller.gif, that is if i can get enough time to bend a few tubes for it.
